Double Internet Speed Via CMD? Is this safe?

I came across a video saying that you can double your internet speed by inputting these commands into an Administrative CMD --> 

cd/

netsh int tcp show global
netsh int tcp set global chimney=enabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal
netsh int tcp set global congestionprovider=ctcp
netsh int tcp show global 

 

i have relatively no clue what these commands mean. If you do this does it open your pc up too vulnerabilities? In general is this safe to do? The video had a pretty good ratio of likes to dislikes but im still not 100% sure i want to do this. If it is safe i will definitely do it, i mean who doesn't want to double their internet speeds?

Netsh is a good way to remotely modify network configurations on your network or on the interwebs... One could argue that it optimises your network config to increase the throughput to your pc.... But not well with those commands...

Calling ISP is not only to help to get faster internet.

Try to keep in mind the following instructions

1.Get a download accelerator

2.Turn off all unused apps while downloading

3.Don't upload information while you're downloading

4.You must always keep your computer clean of any viruses

5.clear your temporary download history files.

6.Use latest version of any browser

7.Do regular speed test.

When i had the same problem,i followed the same ways and my internet speed increased than before by testing internet speed using ScanmySpeed.com.

I am sure,it's very useful to get faster internet.

For example. In fast paced twitch gaming it is a good idea to disable Nagles Algorithm and certain people may see performance increase by enabling chimney offload depending on their NIC.
