Hey sup everyone,

I needed some help picking my CPU Cooler for my first build,

I had really wanted to get something RGB but cant really find one with good review's,

At first I was going to get the corsair h100i White; but some review's didnt look the best,

The other good one I found was the be quiet! 250W TDP Dark Rock Pro 4 CPU Cooler with Silent Wings - PWM Fan - 135 mm       But it doesn't have RGB,

Sorry forgot to mention most likely getting a 3900x; but might do 3800x, its been a hard choice will be for streaming/gaming I want to get good performance, I know the XT is coming out soon but want to have this build by next month

Let me know what you think appreciate the help

Thanks

What are you cooling? If you are cooling something like a 3300x, you are overspending on an 240mm AIO.

You can get RGB fans separately and put them on your cooler

Oh like I could add RGB to the dark rock be quit?

The Dark Rock is an extremely good cooler. Don't skip it just because it isn't covered in RGB bile

Yea I think I might just go with it and get regular RGB fans for rest of case, now I just got to find good RBG fans most likely will get the phanteks Evolv x

RGB is suxx

But thats just my opinion,. Noctua NH-D15 is better than many watercoolers.

Dark Rock Pro 4 of course also.

Yea might do the dark rock or noctua black hard choice

Be careful the Dark Rock Pro 4 doesnt have mounting hardware for Standard fans!

Only the ones that come with the cooler will fit.

Other than that i can recommend it, kept my past 8600k overclocked very cool and very quiet.

TL;DR: IMHO you should buy the 3700x and spend more money on things that count, like the GPU. I also reccomened you post the full build so we can correct any of your mistakes if you have made mistakes.

If you don't get the 3900x, get a 3700x the 3800x is a waste. Unless you plan to oc (which should only be for the 3900x) then just use the CPU cooler that comes with it, it even has rgb, and is really good even for fairly heavy loads. For Streaming/gaming I don't really reccomened an OC, and you should be just fine with a 3700x and a stock cooler, since the 3900x+ are for mainstream consumers who might do some editing or rendering. why not the 3800x? It's just a 3700x that's basically been slightly oc'd from the factory (in a nutshell). So to pay extra money for that isn't a great idea. I

Yea it been a hard choice for me for like a week; I missed my GPU yesterday on newegg because I took too long to decide on it,

I was only going to do the 3800 becouse I have extra money on my newegg card; I got 1100 so want to use it all up for 12 month financing

Yea maybe ill do the 3700, I only thought the 3900 cause I want to stream/game without any issues at all, hard choice since I got that extra $ on the card

You can take the NH-U12S Black and add your own RGB fans, but with the NH-D15 you can only add 120mm fans with the included brackets i think and that would lower the cooling performance.

The included fans of the D15 only fit because they have 120mm mounting holes.

Negative. I have a regular Noctua A14 fan on my D15. They fit still.

Oh okay good to hear, maybe Ill just get one of the noctua so I can add the rgb fan or just stick with bequit maybe just for ease, hard choice for sure haha

FYI if you dont plan on overclocking (pretty pointless on AMD anyway) the NH-U12S should me more than enough.

Yea sure bud,

G.SKill Trident Z neo 32gb 2x 16

EVGA 2080 super ultra xc

Ryzen 3800x or 3900x

Noctua or Bequit CPU

RM750 PSU

Case will be the Meshify s2 or most likely the Phanteks Evolv X; hard time picking case not gonna lie; I do like white cases but the Evolv is nice

Samsung Evo 970 plus 500gb

Then prob gonna get a 500-1tb regular SSD like a samsung 870 or something

Not sure on case fans yet though having hard time picking them  Id like RGB one; and I know cases ushally come with a couiple

For what it's worth, I love my d15 and highly recommend it. Its a chonker though, so if you want clean asthetics, go with custom water cooling or a high quality 280mm or bigger AIO.

ah I got the 970 already at my house so can only really change around the SSD,

oh really didnt realize that the 4x will coast me about 50 more but I guess it might be worth it, some people said it the 4x vs the 2x will cause their to be more stress from 4x or something forgot what they said,

I'm going with the 570 tomahawk just waiting for it to come in stock

If you want rgb, I'd recommend getting a different cooler to begin with instead of getting a premium cooler just to replace the good fans that are already included.

What country are you shopping from? What ram are you using?

Hey sup man just noticed you replied,

Yea I think thatd be too much work for me; I've heard so many mixed review's about some of the AIO's so its hard to choice one

Or I'm thinking I should maybe just try out the stock cooler for now; hard choice I still need to get my motherboard and case anyway, I'm going with the phanteks p600s and 570 tomahawk when I can get one

I'm from US and my ram right now will be Trident Z Neo 32gb 3600mhz

Thanks for help

If you're not satisfied with the stock cooler, the SE-234 is a decent option for rgb: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/P7qBD3/id-cooling-se-234-argb-565-cfm-cpu-cooler-se-234-argb

If you want to use your own rgb fans, the Ouranos would be a good option for a beefy heatsink: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/skJkcf/reeven-ouranos-924-cfm-cpu-cooler-rc-1401
