10th gen intel chips

Hello all, I have been planning out my build for some time now and want to use a 10600k as my CPU. I have seen that only three tenth gen cpu’s are available for sale currently and am wondering if anyone know when the rest my hit the market.  I am currently in  college so the best time for me to build is during the summer so I would love to get it as soon as it comes out. Thank you for your help and info!

I've heard that the 10600K is going to be in short supply for the immediate future and my be a while before anyone has stock.  My recommendation would be to step up to a 10700K or go with a Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 3700X.  if you're 1440p gaming, you won't notice the frame rate difference and have a great system now and in the future.

Thank you for you help the problem with the ryzen chips for me is that I will be using the system to run xplane or other sims out there and intel chips work much better for them from what I have heard.

I'm running FSX steam edition on a 2700 and it works better than my similarly clocked 6600k

3000 ryzen chips unless their something weird about the game should run almost identically

Intel chips usually take a while to hit the market from time of their paper release. I'd imagine a month or so from now and they'll start coming out.

I mean, if he's looking for something to mostly game on and doesn't mind paying a little extra, the 10600k definitely makes sense.

Give it 2 for prices to be normal which means by the time they out ryzen 4000 is right around the corner

Must be a US thing, prices in Canada are normal at launch.

By hit the market do you mean be for sale? Not sure when they will be in stock. I have been checking every day so I can grab a 10900k myself

Available and in stock for purchase, the intel chip is what I want because i am switing from console to pc and it will be a workstation at college as well yes for the workstation aspect of it ryzen is faster but for core clocks and single core clocks intel is the way to goo i  my mind also I will race in sims like f1 and the 10600k got 270 fps in testing which is amazing in my mind on high settings.

10600k is looking like it may be the most popular of the entire 10th gen line based on its price point and ability to get top tier performance (gaming) from a mid tier chip.  I would guess of all the line up, this will be the tough one to get.

 

Best of luck!  Would honestly be a great CPU for college (as in college I spent 90% of my time playing games, and 10% doing schoolwork, with my PC anyways  )

Fair, but when ryzen 3000 came out you couldn't get the most popular CPU of the initial launch (3900x) unless you paid way over MSRP on 3rd party sites or ebay (remember lots of threads on here where people were debating grabbing a 3900x for 200$ over MSRP to be able to get one) or you waited until they finally came to MSRP and were available.  I was on waitlists on newegg, amazon, and B&H and didn't get even an option to buy at MSRP until late 2019 - about 5 months later (ill make up for that by buying 2 now, at 400$  ) .

 

I guess by NEXT summer the ryzen 4000 sexy chip might be available and at MSRP, if OP can wait a year.

It depends on budget and what your doing. Gamersnexus said if you are on a budget, you are better off buying a 3600 with B450 and using the money towards a better GPU. If you want to only want to get the best gaming cpu and nothing else, don't buy a 10900k or a 3950x, buy the 10600k, but he still wouldn't recommend it as the 3600 makes more sense for gaming and production.

that still proves my point. you can get more power for the same price or save a bunch and get almost the same

Its all down to what you do with your PC as always.  GN has done an awesome job with the breakdown of these CPU's.  The 10900k seems like it is meant for a really small amount of people.  

 

The 10600k though, man that is a nice looking CPU; good on intel for redeeming their i5's.  All things considered going for a "budget" or value build I would probably take the 3600; very versatile.  But I also like to tinker and have fun with overclocking, and knowing I could get top of the line performance for around mid tier pricing, I would probably go for the 10600k if I was mostly gaming.

Will you be running the system on a 244hz monitor?

A 3600x will also hit that 244hz threshold in f1 for $100 less. Just trying to save you some money.
