Probably just an oversight.

 

Though... somewhat perplexing that it was missed considering how fundamental/easy alignment is for a professional in design. This is something that should have been noticed multiple times throughout the workflow of whoever made it.

I think it was intentional, they always have some funny line there so it sounds like it was done on purpose. Though it wouldn't be the first time they missed something if it wan't intentional.

I think you've missed the point of the post. It wasn't the leave it empty line... But how the Tips isn't level with the Tech.

I've actually been wondering if there are any easter eggs in the new logo animation. Maybe this is one of them. I'm thinking of going through it frame by frame to see if anything else is amiss.

What is actually supposed to go here? Some people put their specs, others put random comments or remarks about themselves or others, and there are a few who put cryptic statements.

Don’t every look at the google logo in detail...

 

There is always a balance in graphic design between visually pleasing and mathematically correct proportions.

 

In my opinion visually pleasing should win out pretty much every time, even if that means things need to be out of proportion or “not straight”.
