Am I reading this right? RAM speed

I've got a 32gb kit of crucial Ballistix memory @ 3200mhz(linked below), why is cpu-z and HWinfo reporting it as 1200mhz?

 

System is:

That means its running at 2400mhz. You must enable the xmp/docp in the bios so that it will run at its rated speed.

Im with the mentaility of "IF IM NOT SURE IF ITS ENOUGH COOLING, GO OVERKILL"

Since it's DDR (Double Data Rate) you need to multiply by 2, but there's an issue anyway, so it's 2400MHz. 

 

You've enabled XMP in your UEFI/BIOS?

DDR4 is Double Data Rate, so take the speed and double it.  So it's running at 2400Mhz.  You need to enable the XMP/DOCP profile in your BIOS to get it to run at 3200MHz.

It's because you have not turned on XMP/XAMP (forget how MSI calls it) in your BIOS.

By default, memory runs at the base frequency; which is 2133Mhz or 2400Mhz.

 

Whatever CPU-Z shows you there, just double it.

In very short: RAM runs at a certain ticks per second (Mhz), but it transfers two things per tick. So while the memory is running at 1200Mhz (ticks a sec.), it runs at 2400MT/s (transfers a sec.), so motherboard/RAM manufacturers advertise it as 2400Mhz.

 

So in short: go to your BIOS, turn on XMP and it should now say (roughly) 1500Mhz.

You're all legends, A-XMP(as MSI calls it) was in deed disabled. Its enabled now, and reporting as 1600mhz.
