Suggestion on PCIe Wifi Cards

I need to purchase a wifi card for my PC since wired is not an option for me right now. Any suggestions?

you can get pci-e adapters to use laptop adapters . i would an intel one for driver support and even m.2 adapters are out there

Yes. It is backward compatible with older WiFi technologies.

I understand you are asking for pcie form factor but why not consider a usb wifi adapter? There are really good and fair priced ones out there, they are P&P, and many don't even require you to fiddle with ugly antennae.

 

I recently got one of these for ~20 bucks because I needed both wifi and bluetooth for my desktop. It works flawlessly, unlike the ASUS pcie adapter I had before which was never anywhere near its advertised speed.

 

Depending on your internet speed, your router capability, and whether you need to stream locally, you may want to get a higher speed one such as an ac1200 adapter. Again, there are a lot out there. You just need to look.

 

Just a precaution about intel m.2 wifi card. They are good, but to instal in a desktop, you'll also need to get a desktop antennae kit.
