My super small mATX case

_eHEL

Hey everyone,

I saw Linus's video of him upgrading his home theater pc and notice that Cerberus claims to be the world's smallest microATX case- which inspired me to create an account and show off my rare SFF case from the mid 2000's.

Here my Vinster M@X:

11.5x5.5x11.5 inches of pure glory

I cut out the window on the side of the case myself, normally that isn't there, but its an amazing exhaust hole for my 2060 super.

Answering any questions I can,

What does the inside look like?

Looks interesting although I'm not digging the CRT noise color theme. I'd personally attach some small rubber feet on the bottom. Sticker feet maybe.

This is a photo before I cut the hole in the case. PCIe power is on the other side of the PSU now so it looks cleaner.

Yeah I get that, this powder coat paint job is very scratch resistant, you can try to key this case and it wont scratch. This was my LAN PC way back in the day so that resilient paint job was a life saver. Still looks the same as it does when I got it!

  • 1 year later...

I know I'm almost 2 years late, but I love the case! I've been rocking the same case on and off for the last like 15 years. I originally saw them at a Nor'easter LAN competition in the early 2000's and talked with the owner a few times. The cooler you have is the best one I've ever found that fit and I think I have the same PSU, a seasonic 500w modular one. I rewired the GPU plug to have 2 short plugs, one 8-pin one 6-pin, both low profile to clear the case. In my last iteration I modified the front quite a bit and cut a whole big enough for 2 120mm fans. I knew I'd never use a disc drive again, so I figured why not. Also glued that phone handle to the top when I bought it, easier to carry to LANs. Also left the kind of cringy stickers, why not right?

Been thinking of moving my current build back to it, but I love my sleeper case (an old beige Packard Bell).
