What does the "OC" mean in a GPU?

I want to get the Gigabyte Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB GAMING OC and was wonder what the "OC" mean in gpus i'm guessing it means 'overclock' but does that mean that if i get it i won't be able to do anymore overclocking or it means that it lets me overclock? Can you enlighten me?

It means they pre-overclocked it (slightly).

Assuming there is still 'wiggle room', you can still overclock it further.

Yes, it's a good thing. At least if you compare within one series (e.g. a Windforce OC runs faster than a Windforce 'not OC', but if you compare an EVGA vs. Gigabyte OC card, there can still be differences).

There is no quarranty for much further OC tho. It all comes down to silicon lottery.

The meaning had been quite watered down. Cards with "OC" in the name are often found at the cheapest end of the product stack, like the MSI Mech OC which is actually their slowest version of the RX 5600 XT, with 12Gbs instead of 14Gbs memory.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

oh alright but is my gigabyte one fine? I looked at some benchmarks of it compared to other sellers and it preformed pretty well.

yeah, I'm just saying that you can remove the word OC from any GPU and it's the same thing.

Marketing.

Most GPUs nowadays come with advanced boost technology that will automatically boost higher than stated specs if thermals allow it.

In some cases, there will be different power limits and BIOS toggles, but generally speaking these days it means nothing.

If I were you I would go for evga for your new graphics cards because the customer service and warranty and performance compared to other graphics cards is outstounding and also for a decent price to
