Excuses why to buy a graphics card

Simon Deroo

3 weeks ago I build my first computer. Because of budget problems I went with onboard graphics...

Now there is a second hand Stix rx580 8gb for only 160 euros. thats 100 euros cheaper than a new one.

I asked my parents if I could buy this gpu but they say that i game to much?

So here is my question: what except gaming do you need a gpu for.

I have already : 3D modeling and video and photo editing but is there something else?

Thanks!

Simon

Is 160 euros really a good deal second hand?

Anyways, the reason to get a graphics card is gaming, 3D modeling, photo editing, video editing and that's mostly it.

You could make an argument for F@H, but that is going to cost them in electricity too.

Do you actually intend to do any 3D modeling or video editing on it? 'Cause I have a feeling that your parents might be smart enough to call BS
