Hey guys, I've been thinking about this for a while and I have decided to buy my sennheiser hd 518 next week and I just want to ask, do I need a sound card to go with my senns hd 518 and if so which one, has to be external. Also, not too expensive.

I don't think the 518 really needs a soundcard.

Unless the on-board suffers from problems

Stock coolers - The sound of bare minimum

No, you do not need a sound card.

I am using the HD 518 with my onboard sound, and the volume is high enough that I usually keep my volume at 20%or it gets too loud for me.

Mystery is the source of all true science.

You won't need any thing for those headphones. Implying that your motherboard was made in the past five years.
