Do I have a warranty if I participated in a research study for the mouse?

About 10 months ago I participated in a Logitech research study in my University, it was just a few hours worth of work and in return they gave me a Logitech G pro wireless. Now the scroll has randomly stopped working. Do I have any warranty without proof of purchase?

Look in the box.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

They'll use the serial number to determine if it is still under warranty, no proof of purchase needed.

Contact Logitech directly and include the serial number in the email. Generally they are under (some) warranty, but since it was not purchased, the terms may vary greatly (and standard consumer laws might not apply then).
