Need Advice - GS66 Stealth

Hello,

I am looking to buy a GS66 Stealth and found two variations within $50 of each other. One has a 1tb ssd, 240hz display, and windows 10 while the other has a 500gb ssd, 300hz display, and windows 10 pro. Which should I go for?

I would also love to hear if anyone has any recommendations for a different lightweight gaming laptop with good battery life.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.

240Hz - the CPU and GPU inside can't push 300 fps on most games because of the power and thermal limits. The extra storage is well worth it considering modern games can be up to 120GB in size

Look up reviews of each sub model and be weary of where you buy an msi laptop. They are not all made the same. I ended up with the bestbuy model of the gs63vr and the display borders on unusable.

Thanks for the advice! However, after seeing the ShortCircuit video on it I think i'm going to look for a different laptop. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good gaming laptop that is lightweight and has good battery life?

What about it bothered you? Alot of the problems pointed out there are pretty common for the category of device.

The issue is, not many thin and light gaming laptops have good cooling, forget about battery life. GS66 can be recommended

It was mostly how loud the fans seemed to be. However, I cant find anything quieter so I think i'm probably going to go for it.

I'm sure you will get device recomendations from others. My advice would be to evaluate if a thin and light gaming laptop is really going to fit your needs.

Personal experience has been they aren't acceptable in a professional environment or classroom. If windows update starts running in the back ground it is enough to kick the fans to jet engine level. You are usually power limited if you have a really strenuous task. They dont really do anything they are designed for well. They really aren't incredibly useful as a "laptop" you still need to be near a power outlet. The thin and light aspect just means it takes up less space on  your desk.
