2070 vs 5700 XT

Go to solution Solved by Mateyyy,

The 5700XT is slightly faster, closer to the 2070S in most cases. That being said, both will offer great performance for 1080p Ultra.

I'd just go for whatever you can get for cheaper. If that's the 5700XT, look for the Powercolor Red Dragon and Sapphire Pulse models, also avoid Asus' TUF X3 model and reference blower cooler models too.

In the market to upgrade my 1060 to a newer GPU so I can run modern games at Ultra 1920x1080 at minimum 60fps. Reason I'm upgrading is I have a 144hz monitor and wanna utilize getting 144 FPS if I can. I'm deciding between the RTX 2070 and the 5700 XT. I've been reading reviews for different cards on both sides and they seem very even. Any comments?

Performance is basically the same. I own a 5700XT Saphire Pulse. I also have a 1080P monitor. That being said, both of these cards are really 1440p cards, so at 1080p you shouldn't have any performance issues.

The 5700 XT is notably faster as it competes with the 2070 Super. The equivalent to the 2070 non S is the 5700 non XT. My vote goes towards the 5700 XT Pulse or Red Dragon

Didn't NVIDIA just optimize driver's for a bunch of games that bumps the super about 5% ahead of the 5700XT on average?

https://bit.ly/3cDd2gz this one is currently $60 off on Newegg. It seems the Pulse models are out of stock atm and I can't find a powercolor 5700XT

Nope. Latest drivers fix issues but performance is relatively unchanged in my personal testing.

Seems solid to me. The MSI Mech is also not half bad.
