First time playing PC games

Im a long time computer builder and diehard console game player. I recently built a new rig and the combo I got came with a Battlefield 4 which wasnt my main reason for bying the combo I got it for the savings. I have to say it's ok Im not used of the whole keyborad and mouse thing.plus I was actually suprised that I was able to run Battlefield 4 and Need for Speed World on my PC. After all is said and done I think I'll be sticking with my console gaming theres nothing like having all your controls in one hand or two hands.

Get the wired xbox 360 or the wireless with a special dongle and that solves your problem.

Three. WASD, Keypad, and mouse.

How much time did you give it? It takes time to adjust to keyboard and mouse, but trust me, once you do you won't go back. And if you're having a hard time aiming in shooters; that will take time to adjust to as well due to the lack of aim assist.

You can use console controllers on your PC.

Most games will either 1.) Support the XBOX 360 Controller or 2.) Support the PS2/3/4 controller. And in terms of FPS games or RTS games for that matter a keyboard and mouse is a stronger solution I could run circles around someone with a controller in a BF4 match.

i am dying here

but yea, for PC gamers, we can choose between mouses, keyboards, pads,wheels, joysticks, hotas, hydra, oculus, ...

so far, only 1 (indie) game i played explicitly needed gamepad ( and plays better with gamepad 100% you cant really control with arrows precisely)

 

so... i dont know if we can even argue that controls is what it would bind you to one system

and also no point having an argue either.

i am thinking of buying steam controller if its cheaper ( or much better ) than xbone one. do xbone controller ( for windows  ) works same in 360 supported games?

 

i know it will work on steamOS thats for sure.

I personally can't really play with a controller.I've been a PC user for like...forever.

I use a 360 controller when playing single player games like Skyrim, Bioshock, Borderlands etc. Really it just comes down to the comfort for me. One of the things that's most annoying is that a mouse is undoubtedly much quicker and more accurate than a controller so you'd be silly to use one on a game like BF4, To level the playing field you would have to go with console where everyone uses a controller but then your gaming on a inferior machine with sh*tty graphics that you have to pay a monthly subscription for.

I cannot play any console fps games, I just suck with a controller, I just cant use it. With Keyboard and Mouse now I am flipping awesome at fps games.

Keep at it, you'll come around to the controls. My friend said he was a diehard console controller fan and even now he says he can NEVER go back to a controller. Much inferior. 

 

I have one just to use for platformers and the such when Im lazy. Also you should play Half-Life 2 it's a glorious game.

I started out when I had the original xbox.  I was a die hard fanboy in Microsofts camp but I started playing my PC more and more.  I would bounce back and forth over the last generation and now I have no real desire to buy new console.  I guess the reason I'm telling you this is so you'll get an idea of how tastes change.  You may start out playing solely consoles but pretty soon PC gaming will pull you in, just wait till your first Steam sale.

I got a logitech gaming pad I use for racing games on my computer, logitech joystick for flying games, and then my mouse and keyboard for everything else, I suck at fps games with a controller.

Take your time getting used to keyboard and mouse , it took me 2 weeks to get used to it , although i do still use an Xbox controller for some racing games
