Water cooling GTX 1080 Ti

Hello I want water cool my ASUS ROG Strix GeForce GTX 1080 Ti OC GPU, currently it has 3 coolers and it seems not enough playing games like Red Dead Redemption 2 you could boil water near GPU, so I decided to try with water cooling, since summer is coming and for my GPU it will be hard days if I wont put any water cooling, currently it reaches 75-85C while playing, also adjusted fan curves to more earlier to start cooling, problem is its loud as plane before takeoff. 

GPU is not overclocked only factory overclock. Room temperature is 20-22C. And I would prefer silent solution than loud one. And budget is ~100 euros for complete water solution. What choices do I have? Thanks.

100 euros is not exactly enough for water cooling, unless you've already got parts like the pump and reservoir I can't imagine any kind of water cooling for the GPU. The cheapest block that I could find was around 70 euros and 30 euros is not enough for a pump, radiator and fans.

the kit you found will probably be your best bet for price to performance

 

(and even just price if youre searching for anything under 200 euros)

the pump is an spc instead of d5 (it will be a bit louder but besides that you should be ok) and the radiator, block and vardar fans are great ek quality

This kit is not compatible with your gpu unfortunately, only ASUS Founders Edition have support. There is full list of compatible gpus

Btw for that price your best option will be probably cheap aio and kraken g12 bracket. For this kind of budget I highly doubt you’ll manage to build custom loop.

Did you ever changed thermal paste on that card? If not it may be good idea to do it, if the paste is old replacing it may drop your temps, especially when you use good quality paste or even maybe liquid metal if you confident enough to do it yourself ( there is risk of shorting card cos liquid metal is highly conductive

Did you ever changed thermal paste on that card? If not it may be good idea to do it, if the paste is old replacing it may drop your temps, especially when you use good quality paste or even maybe liquid metal if you confident enough to do it yourself ( there is risk of shorting card cos liquid metal is highly conductive 

It was sent few months ago to Asus service for quality check, so they changed thermal pase.

 

P.S if I increase budget to 200 euros what options do I have then?

Asus changed paste on asus card for asus paste I would still suggest doing it yourself.

Do you want to build custom water loop for cpu and gpu for this €200 ??

Priority is complete water loop for gpu also if it fits price also include and cpu

I’d get better airflow and turn the fans up and a repaste. 
 

unless you have the budget for a gpu loop or both. I assume you’re ready to spend that kinda money if it’s a real enough concern. 
 

Could always add an aio to it.

Well my gpu is very hot near my pc case you can almost boil water for coffee(while playing games like Red Dead Redemption 2), and my concern is that I just damaging my own hardware, so water solution is needed

83 degrees is basically the target temperature of pascal GPUs (i.e. if it is below 83, it will speed itself up until it becomes 83 degrees, if other factors like power allow for it). It will not impact your GPU life on a noticeable scale and so in itself is not a good enough reason to want to watercool.

Doesn’t sound like it’s needed. Sounds like the case needs better airflow. Could just let it be. It’s runs just like the people who claim how fe cards run.

For a cheap custom loop option ur best to look at Aluminium kits like those from EK, Barrow, and Bykski.

 

Do note however these are Aluminium, so future compatibility can be an issue. You cant mix Aluminium with copper, so if u ever decide to add to or change any block for a component, or add a radiator, they can not be copper, they must be Aluminium.

 

Also note "cheap" is still going to be in the region of £200

 

Another option is to go the AIO route, with an adapter like the NZXT G12 Kraken. This will cost in the region of £100 depending on the exact AIO u get to go with the Kraken.

You have a few options for your price. And they all depend on your case.

The best option is a 360 aio and nzxt bracket

The second best is a a massive aircooler such as morpheus 

Remove the stock fans on your gpu and use something like noctua nf-12x25 instead you will need an adapter to connect them to your card. However it is best to use an external power splitter (it has 1 fan header input, a molex connector and 3-4 4pin fan outputs) so you can power the fans from the psu and get only pwm and tacho signals from the gpu.

the last one is another d15 mounted on your gpu.

and do not forget to get as much air into the case.

however strix cooler is one of the best so start with changing thermal paste and a good clean to the cooler

You have something else going on then, as when I play Red Dead 2 the 1080Ti isn't an airplane nor is it that hot.  Can you give precise temperatures?  Boiling water doesn't tell us much.

 

How's the airflow in your case, is everything clean?  Dust and other particulates can really hurt cooling, and it's a 3 fan card so it's about as good air cooled as it gets.  You need to feed it airflow tho.

Yep airflow is issue in case, removing side panel problem solves, gpu stays ~65C while gaming, but still water cooling should be nice addition, since summer is coming and 29C room temperature going to make pc loud as airplane

To get is a nearly silent you need something like a MO-RA radiator and they are not cheap at all)

...And without robing local banks  So anyone could recommend AIO solutions(under 200 euros), since I dont have tools for creating own water solution or messing with tubes

no need for robing the bank if you have 2 kidneys))) 
Nzxt kraken g12 will set you around 40 euros and an aio 2x140 or 3x120 (nzxt, corsair, fractal) for around 140-160euros
