Which panel is good for eyes?

Yaxir

I have a TN panel (some Acer monitor).

Lately i feel like i am not too comfortable sitting in front of the Screen for longer periods of time.  My eyes start hurting from the behind and today i have a really bad headache on the top side of my scalp. As i have to work from home, i have to keep the PC on for at least 8 to 10 hours.

Please note that the discomfort increases when i play PUBG LITE or other games on the monitor.

I need to know if buying an IPS monitor will ease the strain on my eyes. Any other measures I can use to protect my eyes would be greatly appreciated.

P. S : I use windows night light feature to turn on the yellow screen lights at around 8.30 to 9 pm, so i am not sure if this is a blue light issue.

I think it will in a way.

But what you need is the ((yellow) glasses special for eye comfort while gaming or whatever else you do.

What refresh rate are you at normally?

Eyes work harder when there is flicker or low FPS.

If blue light isn't the issue, refresh rates may have something to do with it too.

Can you tell me more about these 'Yellow' glasses? What are they exactly?

Just to be clear, these aren't prescription glasses you're taking about, right? Or color-coated glasses?

60 Hz is the monitor official refresh rate.

I did forget to mention, its a refurbished monitor that i was compelled to buy due to shortage of funds. Its not in a good shape (some of its back side is broken, the screen hinge isn't too good either with the monitor screen bobbling if you push if with your hands and it makes those electric flickering/buzzing noises time to time when its in use . Is it possible that's the reason its emitting something harmful for my eyes?)

Check monitors with eye care tech as well as higher refresh rate.

I don't think here's an actual "Healthy display/panel", but there are some things that can help your eyes.

1. Try to add back-lighting behind your monitor. This can greatly reduce your eye strain as your eyes wouldn't have to adjust too much due to brightness difference.

2. Try to sit a bit further away from screen. I used to play Dirt Rally 2 feet from the screen, after trying to play from 3 feet away from my screen, my eyes feel much better, and greatly reduce eyestrain.

3. Consider using filtered glasses. One of those glasses that has a special filter on its lens can also help.

4. Once in awhile, try to get off your computer, look somewhere far, for example, you can spend 1-2 good minutes looking outside, across the room (assuming your room/office is pretty big), or just look somewhere further than your usual distance to your screen.

Here are two other thing that I wouldn't recommend, but also good (according to research):

 1. Eye exercise. moving your eyeballs here and there, you can find many "workout" like this online.

 2. Blue light filter. I wouldn't actually say this is the best way to go, but it can help you get better sleep. In my own experience, this blue light filter thing doesn't help too much on eye strains, but great at helping you get a better sleep.

Most of those are from my personal experience, but as Linus say, your mileage may vary.
