If this were F2P or even a one time 100 pounds I'd pick it up in a heart beat but after playing WoW for about 2 years, I can't do the subscriptions, they bleed me dry.

for 15$ a month this game is pretty horrible. no raid system. generic mmo, everything. it just has elder scrolls slapped onto it with the elder scrolls races. nothing at all like the games we all know and love, and honestly has a horrible action mechanic to the game. feels like another re-skinned wow.

I can't wait for this game. I've been waiting years for this ro come out. Honestly, ESO is what got me into PC gaming, when the game was announced it was only going to be released on PC, so I bout a PC at the End of 2012 (because the game was supposed to come out in 2013) but this is the game that got me addicted to the PC master Race.

The game look gorgeous, combat looks very smooth compared to Skyrim, the world is going to be MASSIVE! It's going to be fun because I'm a huge fan of the Elderscrolls and Never really got into MMO's because I can't understand the lore behind them, but with ESO i'll already know how things work.

Everyone keeps saying how they won't buy it because it's $15 a month. I don't think it's a big deal because I've waited so long for the game and it looks like I can get into it and STAY into it. $15 a month honestly isn't even a lot of money, people on welfare can afford that.

Also, people say it's looks too much like Skyrim, but an MMO... THAT'S WHAT IT"S SUPPOSED TO BE!  how it that bad? Honestly, I think everything about the game seems great, and I can't wait for it to come out. I have my Physical Imperial Edition Pre ordered and I will be picking it up on Day One. :)

I'm really looking forward to the release of the game.

I don't mind paying $15 a month if the game is worth it.

Sorry but a pay per month mmorpg with no raids at $15 per month uh well sorry but I can wait for something better or for this to become free to play.

How is it no Raids? The entire map of Oblivion is a PvP area with capture points and a main city to capture. Seems there is plenty there. You talking of PvE stuff?

Oh and to OP, cant freakin wait :D (Have my Physical Imperial Ed already bought lol)

I was interested, but then they announced subscription fees and my interest went crashing into the sewers. I'll give it a shot when it goes free to play.

Hopefully that will never happen.

Subscriptions allow the publishers to pay the developers to make new content and patches for the game.

Otherwise, you'd have pay gates or ads

Guild Wars 2 and Secret World both did well and had regular content updates without a subscription fee, instead relying on minor  micro transactions and a one off payment for funding. Just look how well that star wars mmo did with a subscription fee, and that had the might of EA behind it. Besides there are games out there that will hold my attention for longer that aren't as expensive so paying $15 a month is a really poor deal for me.

ESO's already going to have microtransactions. They already put an entire race behind a $20 paywall.

Uh yes when people speak of raiding in mmorpgs they generally are talking of PVE 10, 20, 25, and 40 man content or something similar.

What about all the gates and so on... As far as I understand there is raiding.

Sorry my confusion arose when I assumed you knew there was normal Raiding and I thought you were talking PvP...

Regardless I am pretty sure there is Raiding, in some of the Dev interviews and reviewers talking I have seen references to Group dungeons, large bosses and so on. Plus the Anchors seems to be quite a good challenge. Seems to be the world is going to provide quite a good amount of PvE (ie Dungeons, Anchors, Molag Bal and his Captains and so on) and a huge amount of PvP as well with the fighting for control of Tamriel.

To be its looking good, and plus they will be adding on quite soon also. Don’t forget that they will be adding Werewolves and Vampires quite quickly and have promised more even at this stage

That is a once off thing, I have yet to read anything about anything else of a similar nature being added. And in fairness that sort of thing is not uncommon in MMO's. Over the years I have been part of a tonne closed Betas that then allow the Beta players to keep their experience and progress when the game goes live giving them a huge advantage on other people, compared to the one they already have with the knowledge they have.

tbh I dont think that the imperial race is going to have that much of an impact, especially seeing as race has such a small impact on your char as it is tbh

It may be a single occurence, but that's one time too many, IMO. It just makes me wonder: what will they will try and monetize further down the line? We already know there's going to be microtransactions through an item shop. And even if that's just armor/weapon skins, that's still unacceptable to me. The whole point of having a monthly subscription fee is to avoid 'exclusive content'.

I'm not familiar of any MMOs that don't do character wipes at the end of a beta, so you'll have to enlighten me. I know lots of games do a 2-3 day head start for preorders. (ESO is doing this too, btw). But I don't necessarily think that's such a bad thing, unless there's something in your game where there's a limited amount of an item/resource among the playerbase, and a head start is crucial to getting that item. I'm not aware of any game where this is the case.

It remains to be seen what impact the Imperial race will have. As I understand it, every race will have racial abilities. As long as those racial abilities are useful, and as long as you can only get the Imperial race through real money, it's difficult to avoid the claim of 'pay to win'.

Hmm... Seeing as I bought it I cant really agree with you without being a complete hypocrite :/

Here I also whole heartedly agree. The entire point of subscription is that everything then after that pay wall is free, included. However, I will say, I have expressed my displeasure at that on the beta forums (private ones) and open forums and I have said it on all my Beta feedbacks and I have submitted it as a recommendation, that they get rid of them (being microtransactions) that is. If there is enough numbers of subscribers they will go away for sure. Plus if no one buys them... but the world is plagued with idiots... myself included :D

Possibly before your time, depends on how old you are :)

Off the top of my head I can think of Legend of Mir, but there have been a few
