there are decent laptop tops out there for 600... but I wont patronize you.

PCPP(www.pcpartpicker.com) is your friend here. You can go in and "build" a system to match your budget.

There are othe here than can better help you with this than me.

I would suggest you put together a build and post it here to see if anyone can help guide you along.

consider cloud gaming such as geforce now and a normal laptop but you'll have to make sure you got good wifi

Since I currently don't have the money yet, I'll have to wait until i get the money in order to pick a processor and motherboard.

No worries at least this will help you with getting the right parts and have plan moving forward.

That's a great idea, although i have heard a lot of games aren't available on there. I currently play watch_dogs 2 and hitman 2 on a PC that was built like 5 years ago, and it can only run those on lower settings. But i am buying this PC in order so i can play more modern AAA games.

You can ignore the power supply and the SSD since i already have those from an older PC, i also already have all the peripherals: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/ezrabuenk/saved/#view=9jWJf7

I think this issue deserves some more discovery.

Why specifically can you not move a PC with you?

Because every other week i go to my moms/dads house and i can't fit a PC in my bag. My dad could possibly take the PC with his car alongside the bag of all my school books but i just think it'll be really unpractical.

You can get a decent used gaming laptop for 600, especially since you don't have the funds yet and by the time you do pricing will have dropped even further on used items. If you can't take the PC with you place to place, that's really the only feasible option.

If you had a very small form factor PC, but then just had a keyboard and a monitor at each home (a mouse is small and would fit in your book bag), would that increase your budget?

The thing is, it's possible to build fairly high powered very small machines these days, if you can pay for the case.

The Loque Ghost (<-- Click me!) is a very small case that fits a mini ITX motherboard and a full size graphics card in a physical size that is unbelievably small. Like, the entire machine is only slightly bigger than two 2.5 bay graphics cards placed side by side, plus a small amount of extra height. The problem is that this comes at a cost, specifically ~$250 USD, which is over 1/3 of your stated budget.

It is possible to do small builds on a tight budget, but you end up sacrificing some options. The Silverstone ML-08 is another conveniently sized case. This one is shaped and sized roughly like an older recording VCR. For reference, that's about the size of a large textbook, like a reference dictionary but a little thinner. It also has a carrying handle. It is less than half the cost, at ~$100USD. The tradeoff is that it is only compatible with 2 bay dual fan graphics cards (which probably isn't an issue at your budget anyway) and SFX power supplies (which reduces the number of power supply options you have).

With both cases, your choice of CPU cooler is also limited, but that's not really that big of an issue, and if you do decide to go this route, this forum can help you pick out the most cost effective components that will actually fit for a build like this.

Besides building a very small form factor machine that you can carry from house to house, and then having a monitor and keyboard at each house, the only other option I see is a laptop.

But you shouldn't have second thoughts about a laptop. My GTX9xxx era laptop, which is probably worth about $400 USD now, is perfectly capable of playing games like The Division 2, COD, and even GTA V and Project Cars 2 just fine, although it does take some settings tweaking and you don't get the full graphics capabilities out of those kind of games. If you can find an early GTX10xx generation laptop at a fair price, I'd jump on it as it will be able to do what you want it to do for a few more years to come.

ENCRYPTION IS NOT A CRIME

I have a case called the Cerberus X by Sliger. It's full ATX but super small and has a carrying handle on top.

A lot of good hardware in a very small case. I have a TR 3960X / RTX 2080 Ti / 64GB in it. And it's certainly feasible to transport from house to house.

EDIT:

I didn't read this:

The case alone would consume half of the budget. Woops.

Have you considered using a external graphics card and a laptop a bit like what is shown here

but I do not know how expensive this would be

Please excuse my spelling

Yes i have, I recently got a new laptop for school, the surface book 2 (refurbished) for about 800 dollars, it's has a gtx 1050 but it doesn't support thunderbolt /: The gtx 1050 just isn't powerful enough for some of the games i would like to play. And even if it did support thunderbolt an enclosure alone is like 200-300 dollars and i'm pretty sure that's excluding the gpu
