Can i still use a snipped-off 5-pin mech switches to a board that supports it?

Newblesse Obblige

sorry if the grammar of the title is kinda bad, the title says it all (maybe). because im planning to put those switches to a barebone keyboard that has have 5-pin support but (like i said) i snipped it off for my old keyboard that has 3-pins only. is there any potential issue if use that snipped off 5-pin switches to that board?

Using 3 pin switches onna 5 pin board (which is essentially what you're going to do), is no immediate issue at all.

The only disadvantage could be that your switches are less stable, than a 5 pin switch.
