43" TCL Roku TV disconnects from internet when turned off

Every time I turn off my TV for an extended period of time (couple of hours) it will lose internet connectivity. I've decided it's either hardware or software issues, but I can't quite pinpoint what it could be. Perhaps a settings issue, or maybe a wireless antenna grounding issue?

Without power how would you maintain a wireless signal? This seems like a positive thing, I wouldn't want the TV on the net when it's not in use. 

 

Or are you saying it 'forgets' the network and doesn't connect back up to it when you power the TV?

Yeah, it forgets. But it's not like it forgets the password. I just go back into settings and have to reconnect every time

Try assigning it a static ip address

Since it's my parents wi-fi I don't have access to the router's options. But, what I did do was set Fast TV start on and that seems to have fixed it so far. I'll post any update if it has problems again
