Do you shut down your PC each night?

TearGod

I leave mine on, it's set to sleep after some time, and then hibernate.
At the moment I have it set so it will run the folding app overnight, the heat just helps heat the house, but when it gets warmer I'll change it so it sleeps after an hour.

I restart my PC a couple times a year (outside of windows updates).  Power consumption is minimal when asleep, and I think I'm more likely to wear out my power button from nightly power cycling than my components from running all the time.

But now I'm folding all night anyway, so shutting down is a non-starter for me.

A mate of mine has a computer that randomly turns itself on. It's the weirdest thing.

Earthed to the chassis + static or a live leak to the neutral or earth. Or just a feature of Windows 10 + the mobo. PS, oh, and mouse/network activity often wakes my PC setups from sleep, till I find the setting in the mobo (if available, some don't seem to adjust, and sleep always instantly wakes again if I have any usb devices plugged in :( ) bios.

I use the hibernate mode during the week and turn it off in the weekend. I also let it reboot when needed for an update. The main reason is that I work on tons of projects during the week with several apps opened so it would be a pain to reopen everything every morning.

I leave my desktop running 24/7. I'll turn it off if I know I won't be home for a day or two, or if I'm going on vacation. Outside of that, I run it all the time. Then every now and again I'll power it down to let it "rest", but its random when I do it. No set time, but 98% of the time its running.
