Problems with high refresh rate on CS:GO

Hey all,

A couple days ago, I got a new monitor for my gaming setup. The monitor is the ASUS VG27AQ, and it supports 1440p at 144hz with G-sync. Everything is good, except that I'm having some weird issues getting high refresh rate to work with CS:GO.

My desktop resolution is set to 1440p at 144hz, but I want CS:GO to run at 1080p, 144hz, so make sure to always hit the high refresh rate. The problem is, when I launch CS:GO set to fullscreen, 1080p, it doesn't recognize that my monitor is high refresh rate. It just stays at 60hz.

This is strange because when I change it to windowed borderless, it's not possible to change the resolution (it's stuck at the same resolution as your desktop), but the high refresh rate works.

I've already tried putting -refresh 144 in the launch options, but it still stays at 60.

Any advice? I've tried troubleshooting for a while and I can't seem to think of anything.

im having an oppisite issue on linux. 60 refresh, but i get screen tearing in csgo and other games full screen. maybe its refresh locked in fullscreen or your refresh rate goes down at high resolution. for example, i use a tv. with highest resolution (400 something by 2000 or so) i get 24 freresh +tear, but i get 60 refresh + tear at lower ones. even 3860* 1900-ish resolution is 60. check if other games do this 60 limit thing at max. if they is is a limitation.

Thanks for the reply. Just checked, and it seems that only CS:GO is having the issue. Maybe i'll shoot an email at valve support.

Have you tried turning off the g-sync, because I know some people have had problems using freesync in csgo.
