Had a technician come and replace the MB (stopped working) on my laptop, heres what it looks like, the MB is tiny! Just thought some others would like to see inside of it, very thin laptop, not to powerful sadly.

Yep, that's how small laptop motherboards are now. If you want to see a small motherboard, look at a newer MacBook Air motherboard.

I wish laptop battery’s were still self serviceable

 

i know you can still change them but it’s so much harder

Yeah I would rather have a laptop that’s a little bit thicker but has a serviceable battery, but unfortunately most consumers won’t take apart their device anyway so they want the thinnest one possible.

yeah plus warranty gets voided, my laptop needs a new one but it will void warranty (got a year left) if i do so

Not true. The battery is a consumable. You can replace it yourself like you can replace the factory battery in a car. The manufacturer can make it a royal pain in the ass, and you can void the warranty if you screw up. (Point of reference, replacing batteries in watches have been known to destroy the watch from carelessness.) If you have no idea or experience with replacing batteries in laptops or smartphones, don't.

 

I've replaced dozens of batteries in Latitudes (basically the XPS's more expensive version), and the vast majority of the batteries are easily replaced. BUT...

 

The screws are a pain in the ass to replace if you lose them. The screw(s) that holds the battery in, if you buy a larger capacity battery, it does not come with an extra screw to secure it. If you don't secure it, you can damage the ribbon cables inside the laptop. You can also kill the battery prematurely if you turn the power management off.

 

The laptop battery replacement ratio for Latitude to Precisions at the office is roughly 20:1, or in other words, Dell's batteries in the Latitude/XPS suck. Dell will now honor the battery under warranty if the battery has failed due to expanding. They didn't previously.

I had a dell XPS but mine was the 8300 desktop not a laptop which I replaced in Nov. of 2018 with the computer I have now.
