Best $1200 prebuilt?

Hey guys its been a while sense i have bought a Pre-built computer so i don't know whats best anymore. Im helping a friend find a computer. his budget is 1200 it can be a little over if needed. Parts i know he wants are a 256GB SSD and at least 1TB hard drive, an I7 9th gen or Ryzen equivalent, 16GB Ram, and a beefy GPU. Just an overall nice build for the price. Main uses will be CAD/Blender 3D renders, all adobe products, video watching in 4k, etc. I know its overkill for those tasks but that the goal. Thanks for any help!

Why you don't want to build a custom gaming rig with your friend? Because when you buy a prebuilt usually you sacrifice something.

I agree i typically build systems for my friends, but he wants a pre-built out of concern for issues, i tried to assure him it would be fine, but he wants a pre-built regardless.

I have found the Dell Precision desktop line to be excellent, solid workstations. I use one myself and have had no issues with it. Fantastically built server-class hardware.

Alright just be sure he understand that he will spend more money for less performance (usually).

 

You could go with a Lenovo ThinkStation or a DELL Precision desktop.

So im looking here https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/workstations-isv-certified/precision-5820-desktop-workstation/spd/precision-5820-workstation and they dont seem to have any good cards they work with primarily Quadro cards or no card at all do you guys know one you would recommend by dell that has like a card similar to say a 1080 or 1070

They use Quadros because they are workstation PCs that use workstation GPUs, with what your friend is doing a 4GB Quadro is all they'll need. Unless they are gaming too?

If your friend wants to game, he'll have to buy a GFX outside of Dell, but I've used twin GTX 660s in SLI and now a single 1060 GTX with no issues in the systems.

but for the price, unless you need the quadro features a geoforce card will be much faster. Id stay away from quadros at this budget.

I bought  a powerspec G705 a couple of months ago and having been loving it so far. If you have a Micro Center near by(even an hour or two away will be worth it) I would reccomend going there or at least checking online on their website. They have really good deals.

Edit: I have no experience with pre-builts and am not familiar with the companies that provide those in the US. You'll have a hard time finding a pre-built Ryzen system with adequate RAM speeds apparently. I just skimmed through some systems and they were almost all 2666MHz.
