I own one of the infamous "bait and switch" V300s so I have personal experience with it. The drive have varied over the years but it's definitely not a great drive regardless. Be aware that listed speeds are only "up to" for the SLC cache. Check my signature for more technical details.

Hello. I have an SSD from Kingston that works perfectly fine. After seeing LTT's video of the $20 SSD I've decided to test the speed for my SSD only to discover that the write speed is 140 MB/S while for LTT's clip it was more than 440 MB/S. The read value is as it should be, ~510 MB/S. Is there a problem with the SSD or my system?

V300 is famous.

They (Kingston) replace everything inside (worse memory, controller etc) and sell under the same name.

V300 is a crap. Only first, early version was fast, but who knows how long - it's Kingston after all. For me it's the worst brand if we're talking about SSD. Kingston and Goodarm.

I have V300 somewhere from some old computer and it works like yours, even after format, trim etc. It's just Kingston. The only good thing is that works at all after these years. Other Kingston products I had was not that good.

Thank you very much for the response. I guess I'll upgrade it then.

Samsung EVO (or PRO), Crucial MX500 or Adata (not cheapest serie). Sometimes SanDisk. And that is all I trust.

I think I'll upgrade to an NVME. I was looking at the ADATA SX8200 Pro for a while now. Any thoughts on that one?

Pretty much. Close enough given the SSD is several months old and half full:
