Looking for a mechanical keyboard

i had posted a thread before for a wireless mechanical keyboard, after seeing the prices of some keyboards i think its best to consider the "better options" out there

looking for something under 100$ (preferably) would probably stretch until 130$, wont go far beyond that

preferences:

1. i really want to try out the mx browns, or something similar, have been using the roamer g's for a while now and currently looking for something new

2. rgb would be nice but it isn't a necesity

3. not going any smaller than TKL

currently considering the Ducky one 2 but i am open to alternatives.

Ah, I wanted to recommend the Anne Pro 2 with Kailh Box Browns, but I suppose 60% is out of the question?

The Ducky One 2 is a really solid choice. I don't really have other TKL or full-sized options in my mind.

If you want to try some switches you could buy this one : https://www.pcgamingrace.com/products/gmmk-full-brown-switch It's a hotswap, you can easily change the switches in the future if you like.

i think i wont be hot swapping switches anytime in the future, but thank you for the recommendation

A bit hard to make recommendations for keyboards that are available "here" without knowing where "here" is, don't you think? ;)

i don't prefer the 60%, layout mostly because i need the arrow keys, 65% might still be tolerable but i think i wouldn't shortlist it

Look into one of these if you are fine without lighting. Many size variants, full, tkl or even 60%.

https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_list&c=169

Quality is great, keycaps are superb, one of the best there are out there. Ducky One 2 is a solid option, or consider 60% and get Anne Pro 2 as @minibois suggested.

The Keychron K4 comes to mine as a full sized board, in a package more similar to a TKL board, because of the combined NAV + numpad cluster.

Plus you still have dedicated arrow keys too

EDIT: oh I should mention it's wireless and because of the combined nav+cluster not technically full sized, but has all the keys a full sized board has.

See @Nowak's review on it here:

considering that the k4 cost similarly to the K2 (oddly enough) this seems to be a solid alternative, and its wireless (not sure about its wireless capabilities though)

You can use any Cherry MX style switches. This includes most Kailh, Gateron, Outemu, Durock, Cherry, TTC etc switches.

You can use most of the switches, no need for any kind of special switches.@seon123 answered your question more thoroughly.

I have done some more testing with the K4 in wireless mode and it works better if I have the Bluetooth dongle in the front I/O than the rear I/O. I'd say it works fine.

Oh well in that case then I'd imagine it'd work just fine!

Juuuuuuuust be aware that it's a rather tall board, so you will need to adjust your typing style or get a wrist rest for it.
