10 GB a day means you'll use up ~ 4 TB a year, so you'll degrade the SSD fully within 200 TBW / 4 TB = 50 years.

Minor correction: OP will hit the rated tolerance in about 50 years. Hitting the rated tolerance doesn't mean it'll actually go bad at that point as some tests have shown; in many cases, you might be able to hit the rated tolerance several times before it getting too worn out for use.

He isn't necessarily asking how long it will last but more like why is it writing 10gb everyday.

That write is caused mostly by virtual memory created when browsing with several tabs open. It's totally normal. You can't burn an ssd. Unless a manufacturing error, it'll just not die.

My 4 year old SSD has 14 terabytes written so its very similar.

If you don't have enough RAM for what you do then yes of course swapping will cause writes to the SSD.

It's hard at first, but people really just need to drop the wear mentality entirely. No SSD for regular home use of any kind will ever wear out before it'll get obsolete otherwise. Usually with capacity before speed.

Thank you. Thank you for finally saying this, can we get this in big bold letterhead on the top of the storage forums!
