Hi, i really need to know what is causing this performance problem.

It's been going on for over 2 years and we built this PC 4 years ago. I don't know how or when this started exactly since i didn't do gaming much around that time.

Here are some MSI Afterburner recordings of Apex Legends and Don't Starve Together. (Please read the descriptions.)

My power settings are on Performance Mode (100% on minimum and 100% on maximum cpu usage). And Bios settings are default and unchanged. I keep my chassis clean.

My RX480 has a problem where after every driver update, my pc doesn't detect it and it's known as Error Code 43. So i use 3. party programs to fix it. (atikmdag patcher and 6x gpu mod)

I brought my pc to a pc shop to understand the reason of the problem, but all i got was a format and thermal paste change. They said the GPU doesn't work well and is broken.

But one thing about that is, after the format & thermal paste change the pc performed much better. FPS wasn't going down from 75 but it was still not as good as it should be.

1 - 2 weeks later it was just like how it was before; way under 75 on low-mid graphic settings.

Imo it's just CPU and memory bottleneck. GPU temperatures are also rather high, I suppose due to poor case airflow.

Versa series isn't known for having good airflow, wouldn't surprise me.

I'm not seeing the problem. Looking at your recordings, those games are running as well as one could expect from an 8-year old CPU.

with the 8350 and a 480 it looks fine. you should thou go dual channel ram. add a second stick of ram.

but all in all it looks performance wise about right for your set up

thermal paste wont help airflow. try taking the side panel off and see how temps are

Should i upgrade my Cpu? Would it fix everything?

honestly you were like i was. but running a 8350 and a 590....the 8350 literally was holding back my 590. upgraded to a 3600 and big performance difference on my gpu

its a 8 year old system. the cpu architecture  will hold you back more and more as games and programs advance

Thank you so much. Can you recommend a cpu for my setup tho?

You'd need new RAM and a new mobo as well, there's no CPU worth buying that can work with your current mobo. As for a good and not very expensive CPU, Ryzen 5 1600AF (not the Ryzen 5 1600. The AF-letters matter here!) is a solid choice.

thats just it....its not just the cpu you need to change...you need to replace cpu, motherboard and ram. the am3 is pretty much dead
what werecalf said. or even a 2000 series with a b450 chipset mobo to stay in the lower prices.

1000 series or 2000 series destroys the 8350 performance wise

Age and performance aren't the same thing.

@OsJammer First go bench your GPU and compare with overall scores of that card. You might have just changed some graphics settings or you might just be feeling like there is performance loss when there isn't.

If there is a performance loss, I doubt a card could be "half broken. Check if your case is clean, check the fan curves and make them more agressive. Uninstall the drivers, run driver cleanup utility and install the latest drivers. Also delete all the bloatware that is running in the background when gaming. That card can't really bottleneck that cpu. Perceivably at least.

When it comes to CPUs, yes, it practically is. Old CPUs have far lower IPC compared to modern ones and e.g. the FX-series CPUs already had poor FPU-performance to boot when they launched -- their FPU-performance compared to current offerings is even worse now than it was at launch. Then there's also the matter of missing instruction-sets, like e.g. AVX2 entirely.
