Newish Build Overclocking attempt

Hi, not long ago i built my first PC and over the past couple weeks ive been having ago at overclocking and just want to double check i've got everything right and not done anything wrong!

If somone who knows more then me could kindly look over the stats that would be awfully appreaciated!

Processor: IntelCore i7-8700K CPU @ 3.70GHz (12 CPUs), ~3.7GHz - Overclocked to 4.8GHz
Memory: 16384MB Crossair Vengence 2400Mhz  - Overclocked to 3600Mhz

Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 - 1365MHz Core/7800MHz Clock (+140 core/ +800 Mem)

Gameing G Series Air CPU cooler with a case with 2 fans no fancey watercooling im afraid.

So after my attemps at overclocking i've managed to get these figures, with 3 different CPU stress tests over 10min max temprature i got upto is 76C and no crashes but idles around 35-45, can my system be pushed further and is it worth it for gaming?

Thanks for any help!!!

Hi welcome to the forums. I'm your personal astrophysicist Neil Degrass Tyson.......

Kidding. I'm ShrimpBrime, nice to meet you. I have a super similar setup.

Recently dropped in 2x 2060s.

Your Cpu clocks voltage and temp look pretty darn good, I feel you could try for 5ghz oc. It won't be a major leap in gaming frame rates or anything, but you definitely have the head room. Your memory timings are horrible however. Ram speed is meh to average clocks. Could work on the timings a bit for sure. Goal for you CL16-16-16 1.40v or less.

Have you overclocked the Cache yet? I generally run 4.7ghz.

Hi Shrimp,

Thanks for the reply, I'd try for 5ghz but I wanna try keep temp and fan noise down

Regarding ram timings I left them on auto because if i tried lowering Them while overclocked to 3600Mhz the pc just bluescreens

I can get stable 16-17-17-34 @ 2666Mhz

Which one am I best using??

3600Mhz  22 - 22 - 25 - 48

Or

2666Mhz 16 - 17 - 17 - 34

Higher data transfer rates or better latency timing I have no ideaaaa

Well low temps is good. Stick with the current OC then.

Id start with the 2666mhz cl16.

What voltage do you run the memory?

Was at 1.35 but increased it to 1.4 on you're say so :) and that's the lowest I could get them

Yes that's fine. Can you increase the frequency further than 2666mhz?

Played around tonight tried 3200 first and pc shut straight off..

But Seems to be working so far at 3000Mhz @ 16-18-18-34 but not had long to test

Wat I did was set cl to 16 left rest on auto because when iv tried lowering others to 16 pc starts to freez
