Very weird Audio situation

NeoSk11zle

I am having issues with audio, no matter which jack I plug my headphones into, no sound comes. Tried changing the ouput device to every single one (when u click the taskbar sound icon).

BUT, when I go into sound control panel, it shows that sound is being played- the green level going up and down and stopping when I stopped the YT vid. Initially thought was loose HD audio connection-nope.

I have no idea what to do, pls help

Did you tried updating audio drivers?

That was going to be my suggestion. The last time that this happened to me, it was a driver issue..

Yeah, went to mobo site an downloaded the latestb"RealTek Audio Drivers" even went to device manager to check they were up to date.

When I downloaded Nvidia drivers, it also came with its own audio drivers as well (have no idea why). Used that, got nothing.

Is your monitor connected by hdmi? Maybe it’s sending signal through hdmi cable? Maybe try disable that Nvidia hd audio. I’ll check later on if I have something like that but I don’t think so.

It may sounds stupid but are you sure your headphones are working???

All the settings looks alright and you shouldn’t have any problems so that’s kind of last idea which I can came up with.

It may be some weird compatibility issues who knows. At least you know it’s working. You still can test some of that

https://www.google.com/amp/s/windowsreport.com/no-sound-headphone-windows/%3Famp

but I highly doubt it’ll help, if other headphones are working and yours are not.

i think its because I am using earphones, as like ones I use on my phone to listen and talk. It has an in built mic. Did an SFC scan and found nothing wrong.

Welp

Sounds to me like the Audio Jack isn't supportive of that type of earbuds. Usually when they come with a mic, etc. it has more rings than standard. My new Laptop has the ability to support both together, and it is great!
