The best way to clean a keyboard is… the DISHWASHER?

ColinLTT

Given that all of these Keyboards have reportedly died with in a year after being put in the dishwasher and the premise of the video is that it is safe to put any keyboard in the dishwasher to clean it this video should really be taken down.

Seems more like a "your mileage may vary" situation since the YT comments are full of people doing the same thing and no one's come back saying their keyboard is ruined. Just use common sense when it comes to drying. Plus... 9-12 months of daily use is a long time. Could've been a variety of other reasons. We have people on the Peripherals subforum complaining of premature keyboard death all the time.

Given that key switches manufactures claim their switches are good for 10s of millions actuations, a year is a very short period of time for a keyboard. Razer claims their switches are good for 70 million actuations, you would have to actuate that key more than 133 times a minute, every minute for a year to reach that number of actuations.

Sure it's possible that switches will fail early but the likelihood that a person or even a small company of 100ish people would experience a switch let alone multiple switches on multiple keyboards die early is not possible unless they damaged the keyboards in some way.

yeah, because most computer parts and peripherals are built on the lowest standards with most money poured into advertising than actual quality,  this goes especially for expensive brands.

Video must pulled of.

Not English-speaking person, sorry, I'll make mistakes. If you're kind, maybe you'll be able to understand.

If you're really kind, you'll nicely point that out so I will learn more about write in good English.  🙂
