@SkilledRebuildsIs right you know. For almost 300aud budget, you could get the 1650 super, which is only little better than rx590. Tho i would mainly get the asus rx 580. The armor has decent cooling, but not the best cooling, and look, well in my opinion its not good, but in your opinion it could be good.

Since it's replacing a GT610 I'd like to know what PSU you'll be using with the rx580.

I had the ASUS for awhile, liked the frame per $, was a huge improvement over my 1050ti, but otherwise hated it, ran hot and load and many reports suggest most of them fail after about 4-6 months due to improper memory module cooling.

Used 1070 would be better then all these cards and likely same price, but that is only assuming you want to buy used.

I legit owned that exact card, its awful, cooling might look thick and hefty but it works like a turd, it ran at 80C+ with fans blasting in any benchmark, i have never owned a louder, worse built card in my life.

amd drivers are shitty, you cannot trust msi afterburner also.

Nah, coming from Nvidea i like them better, easily.  Anti-Lag vs Ultra Low Latency is all the same but you can find better value monitors if you go for Freesync, and RIS is actually worth trying if you want to upscale 1080 to 1440 etc compared to the disaster that is DLSS or the recent option that followed (which runs better fps then DLSS but always looks bad).

The 2020 Driver has had some issues for some but just use driver before that (19.12.1) if you have any problems until its patched, that said the one case i haven't seen issue is on Polaris cards like the RX580s, RX590s etc, its more 5700 and Vega/VII owners who are having issues.

actually we do (thx for making me aware of this) and there's a 1060 6GB for $275, so probably thinking of throwing that in the fight against the others?

in most games 1060s slightly worse then both 1650 Super or RX580, only get it if price is a worthwhile amount cheaper.

If 1660 is about same price as rx580/590, then yes, go for that.  Price differs alot depending on regions.

I nearly suggested a 1660 for a friend oversears but then we found a 5700s for same price, was a much better buy for him (Croatia)

About Asus And their "great" cooling system - I had two Asus card before I switch to MSI. Both have problems with fans after not so long time. So I recommend MSI, even if Asus may looks better out of the box.
