Upgrading/Cloning storage HDD - Recommended software?

Mitchell77

I currently have a 120gb ssd with windows and a few programs installed on it, and a 2tb HDD with games, media, etc. on it. Since I've been wanting more space for a while now & my build (and thus my HDD) is nearly 6 years old, I decided to buy a 4tb WD Black HDD to replace my 2tb storage drive. I'm planning on cloning everything from the 2tb drive to the 4tb one, but I'm not sure what software to use as I've never done this before. If anyone has any recommendations or advice, please let me know.

Side note: I know I'd probably be better off just backing up my important stuff, reinstalling windows, and restoring the backup on to the new drive. But I'd really rather just clone the drive & not have to deal with reinstalling every program on my PC.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Macrium Reflect - Free Version

  •  It will also set partitions identical to what was being copied, but you should be able to just extend the volume with "create and format disk partitions"

If your just moving files, could you just copy files and set the drive letter to the same letter that the old drive was so that you don't need to change install paths or shortcuts. Probably
