UK Power Adapter with EU Monitor?

cheiften98

Im currently living in Spain atm but my entire setup is all UK plugs. Ive got a UK surge protector that I plug everyhting into. I did save £40 from ordering it from this spanish site but I just remembered its going to be an EU plug. Will an adapter be fine or will I need to buy UK monitor cable?
Acer Nitro VG270UP 27

Also will I need a different HDMI Cable as Ill be wanting 144hz and 1440p or is HDMI2 only for 4k?
Thanks

As long as the voltages are good you're fine with an adapter. But you could also just buy the right plug and put that on, so you dont have a janky adapter in between. ;)

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

Yea simple adapter plug will be fine.

The only time u have to worry about things like that is if ur going from a 240v to 120v or visa versa. For example the USA is 120v but the UK is 240v.

Just a quick note if anyone comes across this, if you're in the UK and are wanting to use something high power with an EU plug on, make sure you get a proper adaptor with a 13A fuse in, not just one of the 'shaver adaptors' that only come with a 1A fuse as you'd end up blowing the fuse if you go over ~200W

Most monitors you buy in the EU should include both a UK and EU style plug... at least that's been the case with the last 3 monitors I've bought 2x Acer and 1x AOC. I've also found that both of those brands also include both a HDMI and Display port cable too... which is nice.

System 1: Gigabyte Aorus B450 Pro, Ryzen 5 2600X, 32GB Corsair Vengeance 3200mhz, Sapphire 5700XT, 250GB NVME WD Black, 2x Crucial MX5001TB, 2x Seagate 3TB, H115i AIO, Sharkoon BW9000 case with corsair ML fans, EVGA G2 Gold 650W Modular PSU, liteon bluray/dvd/rw.. NO RGB aside from MB and AIO pump. Triple 27" Monitor setup (1x 144hz, 2x 75hz, all freesync/freesync 2)

System 2: Asus M5 MB, AMD FX8350, 16GB DDR3, Sapphire RX580, 30TB of storage, 250GB SSD, Silverstone HTPC chassis, Corsair 550W Modular PSU, Noctua cooler, liteon bluray/dvd/rw, 4K HDR display (Samsung TV)

System 3 & 4: nVidia shield TV (2017 & 2019) Pro with extra 128GB samsung flash drives.
