Using laptop hard drive in Desktop

I bought a laptop hard drive on accident but need to use it in my desktop pc. How do I do this? The desktop dosent see the drive to save things on but it DOES see it in device manager.

Have you checked Disk Management to see if its been formatted? Cause I dont believe there should be an issue with the hard drive.

The drive needs to be formatted with windows disk management.

problem would be mounting the hard drive securely as the laptop hard drive is narrower

not concerned with mounting at the moment, this is a Frankenstein build BUT I did get the drive formatted and am moving everything over to the other pc now. I'll up date when finished.

Almost all cases have support for 2.5" laptop drives

You can pick up 3.5" to 2.5" adapters easily enough. They go in a 3.5" bay and have the same holes as a 3.5" drive.

A name brand Velcro with adhesive would also do the trick. I use to do that back in the day before 2.5" drives were really used in desktops.
