SAMA Gold 750W vs EVGA G3 550W

Assuming this is the system and I already own the PSU-s, which one would you recommend using?

 

The SAMA is larger and has a much shorter warranty (2 years). Half a year old.

The G3 is shorter, quieter under the eco mode and has a longer warranty (7 years). Nearly two years old now. And nicer cables.

Name brand over off brand any day of the week. Also, 750W is extreme overkill for a one GPU system, unless you have a GTX295 and an FX-9590.

The SAMA Armor Gold 750W is higher rated than the EVGA G3 in the PSU Tier Lists on this forum.

The SAMA Gold Armor is in a better tier than the G3 so go SAMA

Just because it's not common in the US doesn't mean it's "off brand"

For the short time we offered power supplies (Gold rated), Sama manufactured them for us.  I'm happy to say the quality, performance and reliability were excellent, and reviewers including Jonny gave them very good marks overall.

 

Ultra cheap units from Sama are as bad as others, but their Gold rated units?  I'd recommend them any day.

Never heard about SAMA, is it a localized brand or something? Also, not US. They're not here in Western Europe either.

Sama has a few good units out there. The Armor Gold is actually quite good.

There are a few brands out there some may have no heard of. Some of these brands have excellent PSUs and other times terrible PSUs, that's why you can't choose solely on brand.

Hell, even Chieftec has one or two solid units. Look at the model itself, not the brand.

EVGA has sold GPUs that literally go up in flames, but I wouldn't call them off brand.

It's a Chinese brand, mostly selling in Asia. You can see they don't have much experience abroad, from the anti-bug foam in their PSUs.

 

OP, the SAMA Armor Gold would be better. Doesn't see the same performance and protections issues the EVGA G3 has, even though it might not be a name brand.
