Motherboard Upgrade Query

To start I know absolutely nothing about motherboards, so feel free to speak dumb to me.

I have recently starting using my PC for trading and streaming and I plan to make some upgrades in the near future.

Currently I have:

I5-7400 @ 3.00Ghz (4 CPUs)

GTX 1060 6GB

16GB DDR4 RAM

AsusTek PRIME B250M-A (Motherboard)

I plan to upgrade to one of the CPU to one of the I9 series but I am not sure which, as well I plan to upgrade the GPU to either a 2070 super or 2080/2080 super. The one thing which I need while trading is triple monitor support from HDMI so I can manage graphs, spreadsheets, etc and I know AORUS has a few I have been eyeing.

The main question being that I know for fact I have to upgrade my power supply being it is at 500W right now, however though should I upgrade the motherboard and what would be the downsides of putting either an I9 9900K/9900KS into my existing motherboard. Please recommend some motherboard choices >$300 CAD.

On the other hand if I am upgrading the motherboard should I just go all out and rebuild my entire rig?

it just doesn't work, because 8th and 9th gen use different bunch of boards (H310, B360, B365, H370, Z370 and Z390 chipset) than 6th and 7th gen.

Yes

Why do you recommend AMD over Intel? The last AMD I had was about 6 years ago and it had amazing performance however it ran incredibly hot, I’m not looking to have to build the ultimate water cooled machine just to run an AMD chip.

Just look up some reviews. 9900k/9900KS is basically the same as the AMD CPU you described, amazing speed (especially single core) but also runs silly hot. Equal core count, 9900k/ks at full steam burns twice as much power as the 3700x/3800x
