Upgrading my PC for Cyberpunk 2077!

furiosa

Hello everyone!
I'm aiming to build and upgrading my PC for the next-gen games, specially for Cyberpunk 2077

My rig:
i5 4690 (non-k)
GTX 1070 EVGA
2 x 8 GB @ 1600Mhz
CoolerMaster MasterWatt 750w

My upgrade:
i7 8700k
Gigabyte Z370M Aorus
Any DDR4 Ram

What do you guys think? That's enough?
Since I have a GTX1070 I'm not looking for a new GPU.

Since I'm not expert, Z370M is good enough to this build? What's the main difference between the non-M and M one?
Thank you!

The "M" usually denotes a micro ATX form factor. There's really not much difference aside from the reduced size of the board and maybe some features removed from the normal ATX size.

It's almost 2 generations old. Why would you spend almost retail prices on something that old?

Well I live in Brazil and the cpu prices are pretty much expensive.

If I decide to go with the ryzen, which one and which motherboard u'd recommend?

People upgraded before RDR2 came out....and felt F'd in the A.
Don't do that logic.

Buy what you can afford/justify and aim towards.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I would suggest waiting for the game to release to see if you even need to upgrade.

R5 3600/X and an MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX. Then you have a decent upgrade path.

That's the problem. I want to play Cybperpunk at 1080p with steady 60 fps

Do you think this combo + GTX1070 would allow me to play this gen of games at 60 fps 1080p?

I'm able to play this generation of games @ 1080p/60 fps with an (almost) 3 year old mid grade RX570 and a 4c/8t CPU....there's no telling what system recommendations will be for gaming in the future.

IMO, your graphics card is probably okay for a bit.

  • 2 weeks later...

Hey sire!

I got this deal, which one do you think its better?

Some people said tha the B450M ASUS doesn't have the heatsink. The B450-F ROG has one.

I'm not so much OC experienced, however I'd like to tweak in the future.

Obviously, the Strix is much more expensive. But I do like to see using this in the long run.

Do you think it's a good kit upgrade?

Neither of those.

The B450 Strix is the better of those two boards, but I would still go with the MSI B450 Tomahawk MAX (Or any of the MSI MAX boards) if available. Also aim for 3000MHz or above with the ram unless you plan to overclock it. Those Asus boards don't support the 3600/X out of the box though, so you would need an up to date bios.
