My Power Supply is a Super Flower Silver ECO 500W (Couldn't find this in PCpartPicker) which i already bought for a RX580 build. But while purchasing remaining parts i found a deal on a full setup and i was wondering whether 500W is enough for estimated wattage 414W in PCpartPicker.

 

Since the Deal included a Hyper 212, i would overclock the 3600.

I don't know anything about the company that made your PSU, but my new PC (Ryzen 7 3700x, RTX 2070 Super) is estimated at 404W. I bought a 650W PSU to give me some room for upgrading / future Overclocking / extra headroom.

It should be enough, though I'd be careful about overclocking (keeping in mind that if you run both the cpu & gpu at full speed under overclock, you might run into some power struggles then) 

The powersupply might be rated as 500w, but it doesn't mean it can sustain 500w continuously over long periods of time.
Be sure to test your overclocks well if you do go that route.

Super Flower actually makes PSU for other companies such as EVGA. So i would trust this brand at least.

 

I would probably at least get a 600W if i were to saw the deal before i purchase my 500W CPU just for more headroom, However it was too late.

How can i test this? is it possible to measure power consumption without external meter?

Nope, you'd need to get yourself a Kill-A-Watt. 

You can overclock your cpu if you want, but I don't really reccomend it with the psu you have. You might run into lack of power from the psu. which will manifest itself as unexpected shutdowns under load, preventing higher clock speeds due to lack of power (not enough supply for the cpu' demand...)

Do you currently own that psu ?
If not I'd reccomend you wait out on that NVME ssd and get a better psu & the cooler, and upgrade the ssd at a later date.

A good / higher wattage powersupply is a longterm investment. I bought my EVGA Supernova G2 750w 4, almost 5 years ago and it's still under warranty for another 6-5 years (10 total). And even then.. I'll still use it lol.

It's a bit more money now, but it saves you from buying another one in the future.

Yes i already own the PSU and sadly also the Storage too  , the cooler comes with the Bundle PC so im sticking to that, i guess i'll just skip the Overclock if it comes to it.

While that's true, they're an ODM. So they also make shit power supplies for companies that want something lower tier.

I don't know that model, so I can't say anything about it, but just the fact that it's a Silver rated unit sets alarm bells off. No one bothers with Silver, they either stick with bronze for budget, or put in the effort to make a Gold unit.

 

Even though the cooler is included in the bundle, I'd sell it off and buy a better cooler come Black Friday.

Total system draw from a PC running a 9900k and a 5700XT is under 300 watts. His CPU will take significantly less power, so he can easily overclock it.

The cooler, on the other hand, leaves a lot to be desired...

In what, Chrome? League? 9900k + 5700XT can totally break the 400w bracket if you dont force the board to make some attempt in following TDP, and in GPU heavy games 5700XT still pulls about 220-250w stock.

 

@TheEndisHere Good thing that R5 3600 is very efficient, it will draw 120w at worst (i.e. high voltage, low VRM efficiency). 550w is more than enough since the whole system's power draw shouldn't go past 400w very easily.

That doesn't change the fact that it doesn't use anywhere near 500w...

Even with an overclocked CPU you'd still have loads of headroom.

Try Assassin's Creed Origins or Odyssey, these two games punish both CPU and GPU. If these two games cant push power draw above a certain level, no games will (for now)

 

probably still GPU bottlenecked and 9900k doesnt draw as much as it could, but we'll see.

Just some real world data to throw in.
My system with a 3600 and a 2060s draws around 275W (measured) under full load with no oc. I doubt that 5700xt will draw that significantly more power that there wouldnt be any headroom left for ocing
