Cod gets 3-Year Development Cycle

I am hoping that sledgehammer will bring me back to cod. A new modern warfare, and a world war 2 call of duty have been on my christmas list for a while.

after the first MW everything was garbage...

Agreed with those two above posts: CoD4:MW and CoD:WaW were the most revolutionary, and really broke ground in terms of the online multiplayer experience. Also, mods mods mods. And modded mods. Perhaps we shall wait on fourdeltaone or NTAuthority to be the real heroes if Activision doesn't bring back our love.

I'd like Treyarch to have the entire thing, and release something every 2.5-3 years.

They are better at making a Call of Duty "for the people" as per all previous Treyarch Call of Duty's, more polish, more additions, less taken away, they were pushing/saving/equalizing the efforts of the retarded IW team.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Hmmm, this should be a good change. I used to be a major CoD player, but didn't get Ghosts. Maybe they can lure me back, but now that I am on PC I doubt it.

The only thing keeping Cod going was it's yearly cycle. Kids won't wait that long and they will just get into a different franchise.

It's still going to be yearly but now they get 3 companies making it instead of 2 and they get a longer time to develop the game.

COD will come out every year! read the article. Another dev will just give them more time to develop the game.

COD 11: will be made by X dev

COD 12: will be made by Y dev, and

COD 13: will be made by Z dev,

COD 14: will be made by X dev, and so on

This is how I understood the article

That can be terrible still. Having 3 different creative directions in one franchise won't end up well. It has already affected COD in a bad way with Infinity Ward and Treyarch. Some people prefer one over the other. Why doesn't Activision just make 1 COD every year and give the license to one dev not 2 or three. Yes they will make less money but the game won't be utter sh*t every time.

That's the problem with them hahahaha

FourDeltaOne IS NTAuthority and he quit working on CoD(he's working on GTA projects: GTA IV MP and GTA III) and none of FourDellaOne copycats are never gonna be like it simply because they are based on old (leaked i think) code and the "devs" behind the copycats are not as good as NTA or dont know the game like NTA did

So dont wait for any "heroes" to bring 4D1 back

COD has a 2 year dev cycle normally, a whole extra year probably wont amount to much

More like a year and a half because the devs work on their current game (Patches, DLC and other stuff) for like 6-7 months

Increasing dev cycle time wont do shit

Nothing will ever change with Call Of Duty, I can say this with confidence without being called a fanboy of Battlefield etc as well. I started playing during MW3's reign which was about 10 months into it. I got all the predessocors as well to play, they were similiar with ever so slight differences within multiplayer. Then Black Ops 2 came out which felt completly different, and I made love to that game on countless occasions, but lets be honest it's still the same game underneath. Then Ghosts...  well the last said the better, but it's MW3 with a texture pack..

They really need to drastically change Call Of Duty there's always that bullshit overpowered perk/gun which pisses me off. Grrr There's just something about Ghosts that's ruined Call Of Duty for me, I loved the gaming side of COD on YouTube with FaZe and that lot, in Black Ops 2 the videos were amazing, I lived, breathed, played, watched that game it was my life. I even went pro. For a bit. Sad now thinking about that, I dropped it as soon as that shitty ass Ghosts came out. It's literally the same bloody game. Get your shit together and do something awesome.

Go back to Black Ops 1, do a MP game like that with the maps of COD 4 then we'll have a sodding game.

I'm aware of all this, including the suspicious mufff.in website. NTA has been around the block in terms of avoiding Activision's legal team, despite having not used ANY party of the source/game code (so he claims) and doesn't plan on reviving the project because of many things. What I meant is to wait for someone from the two groups to branch off and bring back what once was. Obviously it won't be the same; it might not even be close. But I shall wait none-the-less. MW3 sucks even with the so called VAC over Steam, as it's unplayble with all the hackers IMO.

sledgehammer are stupid, they will loose profits via this, i may not like cod but from a business point of view WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY DOING

They're coming to the realization that current cycle is failing. Even their loyal customers are growing sick of the constant stream of the same shit with a new name yearly.

i dont think you understand how this works. COD has such a big name it doesnt matter what they do the game will sell. if they are going to make the game over 3 years to actually make it good even more people will play

the part where they lose money is not happening

and so my point is that if they dont do much then they get lots of money and they dont have to pay for as much labour.

Bullshit the games sell a ridiculous amount every year, cod is successful for how easy it is to get into, little kids would struggle to get into something other then cod, that is why cod reigns superior because of the little kids, you all bitch about cod but nothing about fifa, what the fuck has changed in that game or any sports game for that matter and none of you say anything.
