Damn you FANS!

Well technically the case has 3 fans, so i'm gonna need to buy and additional 3-fans pack, which includes a Node Pro as well. But at that point, to what exactly would i connect my 12 (2 for each) fans' cables? PWM cables to the Commander and RBG to the Node?

Yep

This seemed the most appropriate section in which to ask the following question, so... here it goes.

I'm currently planning my new build, and the plan is to get a Corsair H150i Pro RGB + 3x Corsair 120 LL fans, and a Corsair Obsidian 500D RGB SE, which comes with its own 3x120 LL fans, and a Corsair Commander Pro.

So now, we have a total of 6 fans, each having 2 cables, one for RGB (to connect to one of the 6 slots in the Commander Pro), and one for actual power and PWM. The 6 cables going to the Commander Pro are not the problem, the other 6 are.

The MOBO i'm planning to get is the Asus ROG STRIX Z390-F Gaming which apparentely has like 1 or 2 fan slots, anyway definetly not 6. So my question is, where in the hell do i attach these fans to??

Furthermore, i'm also not quite clear about the differences between the Commander Pro and the Lighting Node Pro. Is the Commander an evolution/improvement over the Node? Do i need both? I don't know...

Semi-OFF TOPIC (but still important) question: Are LL fans good for radiators, even tho they are not Static Pressure?

Thank you in advance to all of you, appreciate it!

The Z390-F has 8 fan headers.

The commander pro is a fan and RGB hub, the Lighting Node Pro is an RGB hub only.

Between the Commander Pro and Z390F you have 14 fan headers.

As for LL's on radiators, I see it done a lot by experienced system builders such as Paul and Linus in builds for themselves and builds they reccomend, so I would imagine it's fine.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

I've taken a closer look at the mobo, and yes perhaps considering all the headers you might actually be right, i must've been somewhat blind.

But, the Commander Pro solution would definetly be better. But, even tho it is both a fan and RBG hub, i still need the Lighting Node Pro, right? I mean i have a total of 12 cables, the Commander Pro only has 6, it can't be enough.

Should it be something like this?

Unless you want more than 2 addressable RGB channels you do NOT need the Lighting Node Pro. You can join Corsair RGB devices together as shown in the wiring diagram you linked.

But in the diagram it looks like he connects 6 cables (for either RGB or PWM i assume) to either the Commander Pro or the Node Pro, and the remaining 6 cables to the other hub, right?

So if i got that right, that means that i would connect the 6 RGB cables to the Commander Pro, and the 6 PWM cables to the MOBO... right?

Sorry, i'm trying to get my head around this RBG fans system, still pretty new to it.

Is that your exact RGB setup? The Commander Pro is being used for lighting strips in this case.

There's something i don't get about that diagram tho... The grey lines are USBs, so assume there's a USB cable coming from the waterblock that i have to connect to the Commander Pro (correct me if i'm wrong of course). But then there's another grey line between the Commander Pro and the PSU. Never seen a USB cable connecting to a PSU in my whole life. I mean the SATA from the PSU to Commander and Node is fine, as the USB from the Commander to the MOBO, but USB to the PSU?? O_o

You misread, though that caught me for a second as well.

That PSU has a USB port for data logging and fan control, it goes in to the Commander Pro as it acts as an internal USB hub.

The H150i combines it's fans into a single fan header and a SATA power cable, so that's two headers less to worry about.

Didn't know that... Although I was planning on replacing them with 3 LL fans (because if I'm not mistaken it comes with 3 non-RGB ML fans). I guess it won't be the same thing anymore uh?
