Looking for help on:

-Is this gpu good for the system?(EVGA GTX 980 ti superclocked 6gb GDDR5)

Why are you getting a 900 series card exactly? There are so many good deals on 10 series cards...

The 2400 will hold you back, those systems can be BIOS flashed to support 3rd gen, I believe. Even a 2nd gen i7 will help a lot.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

Great, but how exactly are you going to fit the card in the case? It's low profile.

You're right. I was thinking of the small form factor version of the 790. (I have the small one as a spare pc)

Are you saying I can get up to a 3rd gen i7 cpu?

Remember, a lot of Dell computers have a locked down BIOS that only accepts certain PCI Express cards.

My Optiplex 210L and 780 only accepts a small list of OEM graphic cards/adapters from Dell. Anything else and it refuses to boot.

My optiplex is a 790, do you know if it is compatible? The link is here    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-OptiPlex-790-Core-i5-2400-3-10GHz-4GB-250GB-HDD-Mid-Tower-Windows-10-Pro/184000346017

I think so, your chances are higher with a 900 series card.

Do you know if I can put an i7-3930k in the optiplex?

No, because it uses the LGA 2011 socket. You need an LGA 1155 compatible cpu like the i7 3770. (assuming the bios is compatible, which I'm not sure)

Edit: apparently the best cpu you can put with the Q65 chipset is the i7 2600k.
