hmmm, it's actually not a bad deal for being a prebuilt, building yourself you can get a little bit more but not bad

People can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a 4060 a bit underpowered for a 1500$+tax build? Or are we mostly talking the sum of the components?

mITX is awesome! I regret nothing (apart from when picking parts or have to do maintainance *cough*cough*)

What video editing software are you using and what type of output is being produced.

Sum of components. 4060 for Video editing isnt too bad honestly, but with how much MORE a 4070 is, it doesnt exactly fit into the 1500$ budget with a 14900f. The prebuilt is more then likely going to thermal throttle hard, and with the cheap MOBO they will be using with it i dont expect longevity.

Thats fair. I don't know a thing about video editing, so I was just curious based on what I had heard about different builds and balances between components and budget.

110% correct id be expecting a 4070ti super at this budget not a dinky 4060, and no that isnt just abit underpowered that thing is so laughably underpowered that a 1000$ build based on a 4070 would be able to beat it

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/W7bMN6

7700x + 4070tis + 32gb 6000c32

better psu

better board

better ssd

better cooler

better faster rams

outright superior gpu

platform where you can drop a new cpu in without mobo or ram replacement

microcenter 7700x bundle for the mobo cpu and rams

pretty sure video editing is gpu heavy so a trash 4060 wont be able to keep up with the likes of a 4070ti super even with a thermal throttling 14900f, not to mention the cpu will be alot more power efficient than that i9 so less heat output and lower power bills

If it's more expensive than building your own, its expensive IMO. This is the case here in EU at least.

CPU: Ryzen 5800X3D | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Elite V2 | RAM: G.Skill Aegis 2x16gb 3200 @3600mhz | PSU: EVGA SuperNova 750 G3 | Monitor: LG 27GL850-B , Samsung C27HG70 |
GPU: Red Devil RX 7900XT | Sound: Odac + Fiio E09K | Case: Fractal Design R6 TG Blackout |Storage: MP510 960gb and 860 Evo 500gb | Cooling: CPU: Noctua NH-D15 with one fan

FS in Denmark/EU:

Asus Dual GTX 1060 3GB. Used maximum 4 months total. Looks like new. Card never opened. Give me a price.

Then you probably want as powerful a GPU as possible, the CPU is sort of irrelevant. I suspect an i5 or 7700X would be sufficient.

The articles are a bit dated, but still provide relevant data. https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/topaz-ai-cpu-gpu-performance-analysis/ and https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/topaz-ai-suite-nvidia-geforce-rtx-40-series-performance/.
