Which headphones should I go for?

I am honestly about to pick up some Nari Ultimate's from Razer, Mainly because the Haptics would be cool and it has chroma at a nice price point. Plus it also has THX spatial sound.

but before I do, does anyone else have any other suggestions?

i had a razer kraken and i hated it. it hurt my ears if i wear it for more than an hour so im not too keen on razer audio products. do you want a headphone or headset? for headphones i would recommend a sennheiser 518 or 558 for headset i had a good experience with the hyperx cloud

My recommendation would be to consider something not gaming branded, and particularly not Razer, I have very negative experiences with Razer products and failure (both personal and friends).

Next, I have to ask, why do you care about Chroma on a pair of headphones? You're unable to see them while they're on your head, unless you're continuously staring into a mirror, at which point, why are you using them?

Sound is always going to be entirely subjective, but on the recommendation of this board from many years ago, I moved past the "3PIC G4M3R 1337pewh4xorz" headsets onto an entry level quality pair, first a pair of DT770 Pro's, and currently my MSR7's. Objectively I believe they do provide a better sound experience. Subjectively, I like the way they sound better, a much more flat sound stage (no crazy jacked bass), better build quality (materials), and they're more comfortable to boot.

I have Corsair Void Pro RGB headphones, can confirm the RGB on the side to be pointless (actually a detriment because they'll slightly lower battery life) unless I leave them power on and sit them on a stand so I can see them, instead of wearing them (but then I can't hear anything, now can I?).

I've been through my RGB phase already, for peripherals other than keyboards and sometimes mice it's utterly useless.

are you wanting headphones for gaming?

Just buy any nice cans and get this

Sennheiser GSX 1000

and

V-MODA BoomPro MIc

then just buy real headphones.

If I had one wish, I would ask for a big enough ass for the whole world to kiss

I second this. For around 220 you can get a HD6xx and some 20 dollar mic of amazon and get better audio quality

I don't get the stigma that people have against gaming headphones. They may not have the best frequency response or whatever but no one ever has complained about treble being muddied in a match of CS. Honestly just pick features you need such as wireless connectivity or a mic and don't worry too much about sound unless you listen to a lot of music or something.

a much more flat sound stage

For casual use this is really not what you should be going for because IMO(the DT 770s especially) get really fatiguing real fast and I wouls stick with something closer to the Harmon curve

What are you using it for? If its just gaming get something like a Void Pro/G933 or a PC37x if you plan to listen to a bit of music.

well i recommend a closed back headphone, because it lets you hear yourself speak

largely comes down to build quality (heavy use of plastics and stiff padding) and the inclusion of purely package bulletin point features ("NOW with 87 drivers/ear for ULTRA ENHANCED REAL3D SOUND!11!!1!!", "RGB lightshow spactacular!111!!1!" which drive up the cost for nothing more than "because marketing reasons".)
When it comes to muddiness, having bass jacked up can and does muddy up other sounds, with particular emphasis on sound-sensitive shooters. My cousin has only had experience with "gaming" headsets, two pair of Turtle Beaches (don't know specific models) and more recently, a pair of Corsair HS70's. AFter he used my setup (MSR7's) he went out and bought a pair for himself. He experienced the same thing I did: not having cranked bass allowed him to distinctly hear things that he was previously missing. Directly, his surface level skill in Siege has improved.

Sound and fitment preferences will always be subjective, everyone ears are different, everyone's head is different, it's why I avoid saying "these are THE headphones that you MUST get". The DT770's had a very pleasing sound to me, but the way they fit on my head (I wear glasses) left me fatigued after a few hours. That combined with Beyerdynamic's customer support when I had a failure, lead me away from them as a brand.
Inversely, I've been very happy with my MSR7's and AT's customer support (specifically, the pleather  (or fake leather, whatever it's actually called) on the ear cups began flaking off of my original set, and when I contacted customer support asking if they sold replacements (I expected that to fall under normal wear and tear) they willingly sent me out another pair completely free of charge). I don't have issues with sound or pressure point fatigue with these.

domt get that heapdhone it's pretty awfully tuned and full of gimmicks and doesnot have a soundn quality that matches the price look elsewhere. if you need a mic and are into the "gaming" aesthertic grab the sennheiser gaming headset. if you want actual sound quality and dont care for how things look grab a dt 880,990 or a 770. or a hd 58x, or a on more triple driver over ear headphone or a he 4xx  paired with a fiio k5 pro to power any of them. will sound a lot better than the nari

as much as I love the harman curve I wouould prirotise great imaging as well as a decently wide soundsteg which to e the msr7's kinda lack.

Thank you all!! I am now looking in the direction of sennheiser! I am currently using a pair of Kraken TE. I love em but wanted to upgrade. I Will start looking in that direction. Also, since you guys said to shy away from "Gaming" headphones, what are your thoughts on a Bose headset?

Objectively, I think they're a quality item. I've not had any personal experience (first or secondhand) of any undue failures or shoddy workmanship.
Subjectively, I think Bose is vastly overpriced for what you're getting. I don't have to look far to spend less on something else and get an experience I enjoy better than Bose.
