AOC 24E1Q Advertised as 240hz, not getting above 60

p0xy^

So for my birthday i linked my mother this AOC monitor and she bought it on the spot (AOC 24E1Q) and it was advertised as "Gaming · 23.8 in · LED Backlit · With Speakers · 240 Hz · 1920 x 1080 · AOC · HDMI · DisplayPort". Thankfully it came with a display port cable and when plugged into my GPU, at 1080p it only goes to 60hz. when brought down to 800x600 it only goes to 75hz. Was this a scam or am I doing something wrong?

Are you sure you didn't pick the wrong monitor to get?

If I had a dollar for every time I've seen Google Shopping misrepresent a product, I'd have enough money to buy a real 240Hz monitor.

Unfortunately, you bought a monitor with the incorrect product description. Looking at the actual product page and the Newegg page shows it's only a 60Hz display.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

There are none, it doesn't exist a 1080p240hz monitor that costs equal or lower to $200.

Just buy a 144hz one since the difference is minimal and more often than not entirely placebo.

The cheapest I've seen a 240Hz monitor go for was a refurbished Alienware AW2518H for $239, otherwise the only other monitor you can buy new for cheap is the Acer XF250Q for $249.
