RYZEN 2700x overclock

What is the cheapest air and liquid cooler out there that will allow me to overclock this CPU with ease.

What OC do you expect with the 2700X?

My Corsair H100i GTX 240mm AIO couldn't handle my R7 1700 OC in sig at all under heavy load.   Built a custom loop, now I run mid 50's while gaming, and at full heat soak in the loop I hit 68c this weekend (run after run after run of CineR20).  Just info sharing.  I would expect a heavy OC to take a 360mm radiator at minimum (I use 600mm rad space) in push pull with some TG Kryo to have comfortable temps.

So a Corsair H11i pro with a 280mm rad wouldn't do the trick? I'm not an experienced builder and I've never built a custom waterloop.

Depends on your ambient temp but tbh heat soak will happen eventually if you put the system under heavy load for long enough.  

 

I can only give you my use case - I have 2 1700's.  To OC my RR2 in sig past 3.8ghz without heat soaking my 240mm AIO until it would crash from temps I had to build a custom loop.  I would assume that the 40mm extra of radiator real estate just wouldn't be enough either.  I have a 600mm (2x240 and 1x120mm radiators) loop and I easily contain the temps now with some room for hotter chips under that loop in the future.  

 

Ive worked on OCing RR1 in my sig (my other 1700) and I can get a 3.8ghz all core under medium load with just a 120mm AIO.  But I cannot go higher or it will crash due to temps.  I have an identical 600mm loop sitting in a box just waiting to slap on that system as well to push the 4.0-4.2ghz OC on that chip.

 

From my experience for a heavy 8 core OC on Ryzen you will want 360mm radiator space at minimum.

 

I believe @nick name has a OCd 2700x - do you have any input sir?

Running 4.125ghz at 1.35volts with a CoolerMaster ML240L bought for 75$ CAD, less then 30C idle, around 45C while gaming, 65C under stress. Only complain is the loud fans that will have to be changed in the futur. I run 4.25ghz at 1.42 volts sometimes and temps are within safe zone.

I'm running a pair of 360 rads (30mm and 40mm), with noctua industrial fans, in a custom loop, in a define R6.

My 2700x running 4.35Ghz single core / 4.2Ghz all core, at 1.35v, will still hit low 70's C during prime 95 small FFT's, High 60's running multiple CB15 & 20 runs or when running handbrake. that's with an ambient of 24c.
