Will Any Other CPUs Work in This Motherboard?

Hello, the motherboard in question is an Acer TC-780A(KBL) and with some research I have found some specs and the compatible CPUs listed are:

i7-7700

i7-6700

i5-7400

i5-6400

i3-7100

i3-6100

G4400

G3900

 

So the question I have is.... Has anyone ever tried a different 6th or 7th gen core series CPU that is not listed in the specs with any luck?

I appreciate your input and time.

Gateway VX900 CRT: 1920x1440@64Hz, 1600x1200@75Hz, 1200x900@100Hz, 960x720@120Hz (Can be pushed to 175Hz)

Hmmm.... If that is true then the CPU options are a little bit limited.

I would like to find out, but I do not have any other 6th or 7th gen core series CPUs.
