SSD's got even bigger? PLC nand

This is literally the point where an HDD makes more sense as a product. Who in their right mind thinks making an SSD slower than a 5400RPM HDD is a good idea?

Depends on the use case. For example I wouldn't mind using it to store games, movies, pictures and music. I doesn't really need fast write speeds or more writing cycles. It just needs to be big and not to expensive. And in my case I want it to be silent and without vibrations.

Since it would serve as kind of an archive I would use a raid config or a backup on another machine (probably both) anyway. This is easier to fit in my budget when I use this kind of ssd.

PLC +25%?

Also another question is durability.

I would only consider PLC, if you could get it in 6+TB capacities, and for the a little more than hdd of same size.

Because it will be slower than a hdd for sequantial writes,, but atleast it will

My question would be, why is the PLC logo as featured in today’s techlinked a hexagon instead of a pentagon?

Everything in the future is hexagons, they're due to replace squares as the main shape in 2054

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Why? Why not just bars of light like in all the music videos. Hexagons look good for a perfect cyber city. But lets be real in the future a lot of places are going to be like night city from cyberpunk a mix of perfect world and neon and lights in the poorer part.
