i pay for 100megabit download and 30megabit upload

im using 2.4ghz wifi i have changed setting like changing channels ect but still same speeds :(

what can i do my friends iphone connected to wifi 5g got 104megabit down and 31megabit upload in same location where my pc is

i called up my isp today and asked them why is my 2.4ghz wifi so slow and they said the size of my house the on 2.4ghz should work fine and should be easily able to pick it up and get good a speeds i told them that in my room on my friends iphone 5g was really fast so i will upgrade to a 5g wifi device the 2 people i spoke to said im wasting my time and money getting a 5g wifi card for my pc as 2.4ghz should be more then enough for the speed i pay for

is the router located somewhere that is inaccessible by a person? or does the router belong to someone else?

i would have to run the cable down my hallway and kitchen so it would be all over the floor and there is no way to keep it out of the way and my nephew who lives with me or myself would trip over it or my cat would attack the able and destroy it

running a cable line to the room would be pretty cheap and easy , it's actually cheaper and easier than buying a new wifi router , you just run the line outside the building , or up through the floor if you have a basement.

Basically there isn't a reliable wifi solution that will max your connection speed so I'd either cable your machine or downgrade the internet speed so you aren't spending so much to use so little of it

I would suggest grabbing a WIFI analyzer app for your phone and use it to check how much congestion is on the 2.4 band around your home. If there is allot going to 5ghz may be your answer.

You're highly unlikely to get 100Mbit out of 2.4Ghz without WiFi 6
WiFi 5 should be able to easily do it however on 5Ghz.  I can get 500Mbit on 2x2 MIMO equipment, although probably not over the distance it sounds like were dealing with here.

Sure you can, you buy a powerline adapter with a passthrough socket on it and plug the power strip into it.

Well. As you see 5GHZ is made for perforamcne. 2.4 Ghz is made for compatiblity and distance. Invest in 5Ghz if you want speed, thats why it exists. 2.4 Ghz in many areas is just down right congested to fuck.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

unless you are willing to run a lan cable. use moca, powerline or invest in your own gear to get the 5ghz that may or may not work you are SOL.

BTW some isp's and others are going to follow that if you want good wifi and speed in your house you will have to invest the time and money to do it. I my self who has 2 places on the go need multiple AP units to get good coverage from my isp. I would gladly take just an Ethernet port and that is it from my isp. instead of there combo gateway unit.
