Hey guys, I have an Acer Nitro 5 and Im running out of space, I want to buy an HDD; what brand or type do you recommend ?

Does it need to be a internal or external drive?
If it's internet, does your Nitro 5 have space for an additional drive or do you want to replace your current one with a new one?

How many drive you already have right now? is it HDD or SSD?

If only 1, you can add another HDD to the empty dock, that is you may need to open the warranty stickers.

Ryzen 5700g @ 4.4ghz all cores | Asrock B550M Steel Legend | 3060 | 2x 16gb Micron E 2666 @ 4200mhz cl16 | 500gb WD SN750 | 12 TB HDD | Deepcool Gammax 400 w/ 2 delta 4000rpm push pull | Antec Neo Eco Zen 500w

Good point, but it looks like the Nitro 5 has one of those easy to get to 2.5" drive bays:

Image result for Acer Nitro 5

To OP: if you indeed only have one drive installed, check to see if the cables and HDD cage is actually there; I have seen Acer machines not include that...

Anyways, assuming you have the room, a WD Blue 2.5" (HDD) or Crucial MX500 (SSD) will work nicely, depending on what you want to spend, what you want in terms of room and what you want in terms of speed.

This really depends on how you plan to use it. I'm partial to both Western Digital & Seagate. Are you looking for occasional use storage or is this going to be used constantly? What capacity are you looking for? Do you have a budget?

Skip the spinners and get am SSD imo.

For long term mass storage just get a nas or something

i5-14600KF // 120x38MM Cooler Master AIO // B760i // 64GB DDR5 6000 // PNY RTX 5070 // Cooler Master NCORE 100 Max // Cooler Master V SFX-850 Gold // UWQHD AOC Display

Yes it has the cable and the cage, but I understand it is only for HDD right? he machine came whit 256SSD, I study architecture and I have plenty of software installed, files in general and some games. What should I store in the SSD and what in the extra storage I plan to buy?

A 2,5" HDD and an 2,5" SSD use the same connectors, form factor, etc.

The only difference is that HDD's are generally 9mm thick and SSD's usually 7mm, but that never formed an issue for myself.

If you study architecture, I assume you have quite a few large (3D model) files, which would open faster on an SSD, but if you need the file space more, it's likely better to get an HDD.
